Here are guys who are still available; I guess i would try to find one who had been working hard to keep himself in shape, and has a motor: Centers Jordan Bell (25) Tyson Chandler (38) Dewayne Dedmon (31) Pau Gasol (40) John Henson (30) Dewan Hernandez (24) Ian Mahinmi (34) Thon Maker (23) Johnathan Motley (25) Joakim Noah (35) Anzejs Pasecniks (25) Tyler Zeller (30) Power Forwards Ryan Anderson (32) Michael Beasley (31) Jonah Bolden (24) Bruno Caboclo (26) DeMarre Carroll (34) Tyler Cook (23) Henry Ellenson (23) Donta Hall (23) Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (25) Ersan Ilyasova (33) Alize Johnson (24) Skal Labissiere (24) T.J. Leaf (23) Luc Mbah a Moute (34) Omari Spellman (23) Caleb Swanigan (23) Lance Thomas (32) Anthony Tolliver (35) Jarrod Uthoff (27) Kenny Wooten (22)
wait. Thon maker? Wasn't he full of potential? What happened to him? Injuries? If not, maybe he can be revitalized? i thought i recall many on here high on him? Wanted us to draft him? @illmatic99 i thought you used to be high on Thon. Was that you or someone else maybe? also. Isnt he the one who turned into the karate kid during a game he was playing for his own country in? i mean we need an enforcer do we not?
Just give me the last guy on that list, so we can someday hear Jordan Kent yell out "Kenny Wooten's gonna score!" during a Blazers broadcast.
ok this is unrelated, but can someone explain what Kent means when he yells "PAINT IT" after our guys hit threes. Like what does that mean, and where does it come from? I kinda get "ring it up" or "shoot the lights out," but paint it? Paint what?
i think he's just trying to figure out what his signature call is. i don't really mind him. Was good in the bubble, but he's not really growing on me this season like i thought he would this call on dame's game winner was just him screaming. not having fans probably emphasizes his commentary more than usual.
Isn't a play for Blake Griffin the logical move now? Fits Olshey - they have a history, and fits Blazers - we have a need.
It's funny because Wheels pretty much just screamed on a few of those epic shots, but it was a genuine scream. Like....... I don't think anyone really noticed because we were also screaming. My problem with Kent (which was a similar issue that I had with Dan Sheldon) is that they feel like robots. They don't have charisma. They're boring. Kent is not a top tier guy. He shouldn't be calling an NBA game. He's perfect for college. I miss MB and Rice.
Bobby Marks wrote a couple days ago that Portland is 1.9m below the tax line. Wouldn’t that allow them to sign a vet? If so, wait til some buyouts start happening aka better players.
Exactly. It would be stupid to sign one of the remaining free agent retreads before the deadline. As you said, buyouts happen every season and the Blazers should be in a position to be able to make a move that way. There’s also the possibility of a trade where the Blazers could receive one more player than they send out. The team is doing well right now, so there’s no reason to add a warm body from this group. If things get tight due to another injury, Olshey still could add a 2-way player to buy some time.
