Straight up? You realize both of those trades had multiple lottery picks coming back to Portland, right?

With an Asst/TO ratio of barely over 1.

CJ for Aaron Gordon works for me and whatever salary filler/expiring necessary from Orl, salaries are roughly 27 mil for CJ and 20 mil for Gordon this yr, also save us a good bit of money as Gordon's salary "declines" next 2 yrs after this

great. I hope you are right come trade eligibility time.
Cj sucked again last night. I can only assume his stock is plummeting like the great depression.
I see now, the laziness, or lack of effort, or extremely low iq issues whiteside has.

if we can get more great. But with the injuries, its clear this season, even if we make the playoffs, is not a championship run season. i say move cj to the bench, put Simons in his spot and start bringing little off the bench consistently to replace hood.
give the young guys run to be comfortable for next season when nurk and collins are back and we have players that fit better than cj and whiteside.

I’m not a huge fan of CJ’s game but he will start making shots again and then everyone will jump back on the bandwagon

I won't, prefer to build a better roster and trade him for a good PF/SF, if and I stress "if" ANT keeps improving CJ is easily expendable (especially with his 3o plus mil per extended contract!) and we will have a much better idea on ANT's progress/capability when CJ can be traded which in not until late Jan I believe

I believe CJ will start hitting shots....but was never on his bandwagon due to his style of play and how he constantly ignores wide-open teammates.

Of course there's room to comparison in these stats! CJ shot a better % but on a lower volume of shots, if you have a problem with that then you're actually complaining about CJ not taking enough shots.
Also notice 16 games vs 11 games, that's also making it on a higher "volume".

"Less minutes and more steals"...yea, CJ played 1.5 more minutes and got 1.5 less steals while having half the TOs...talk about nitpicking here.

I can’t argue with someone that doesn’t understand basic math.

    I understand your simple points.
Yes, you are able to prove the MVP was better at some aspects and my comparison wasn't meant to prove CJ was better to begin with - It was to show CJ performed well for a #2 option and that he deserves to be called "a star".

Watch those Rockets game and count how many times Harden's role players fixed his mistakes.

Now go back to your important work at NASA.

I will jump on the CJ bandwagon when he has several games where he doesn't shoot well, takes fewer shots, and contributes in other ways for the win. Until that time I don't get excited about seeing him score a bunch of points in any single game.

Honestly, I wish he would approach Stotts and say "How about we try moving me to the second unit and let Ant start, to see if that helps." I don't see it happening, but that would make me believe he is more interested in winning than his personal scoring.

    you’re right, sorry.

still I don’t think those are good trades. We need prime players for Lillard, not draft picks

but yeah I mischaracterized your post

Harden had around 100% more assists. Does that matter?

I'd say it is more of a 2 part equation. He needs to make his shots and he has to help the team win. He will never be a great passer or defender, but at times he has at least made an honest effort. That's the CJ we need - the guy who came out of college with a rep as a smart player.

Orlando really needs a good scorer. They get one and they do it with receiving cap relief as well for next season. We probably get a 1st round pick out of it as well.
