    Whiteside+Baze to Boston for Hayward+Smart

Why Boston does it? They get much needed frontcourt size, and a serviceable backup wing. Allows their young Guards like Langford and Edwards to get more court time too. Get to cut salary for next summer.

Why we do it? Hayward fills a positional need, Smart is a two way backcourt player.

    CJ for Gordon+Bamba+Protected pick

Why Orlando does it? They get the go to scorer they need.

Why we do it? Young, super athletic, frontcourt players with tons of potential.

    2020-21 base roster?

    Dame / Smart
    Simons / Trent
    Hayward / Little
    Gordon / Collins
    Nurkic / Bamba

Could still re-sign Hood/Skal and we’d have a good lottery pick.

Boston would never do that trade, it's not even remotely in the ballpark of getting a deal done.

CJ can't be traded until Jan 30th and won't be anyway. Plus Gordon sucks.

Boston is so loaded in the backcourt/wing, Hayward is odd man out, Smart while good and a long time Celtic isn’t really pivotal for them long term (like I said, they have two young guards who need court time). They need another center, and getting Baze to help off their bench would be big for their playoff run.

You are not really trying to justify this terrible trade you suggested...it is like Orlando giving us Aaron for Lillard saying look you have a gap at PF.
Both Smart and Hayward played great basketball so far and Boston is killing it.

God I hate this thread and all threads like it!

That said, can someone tell what picks we have in the 2020 draft please? Pretty please?

Both our first and second rounders. Which are at 6 and 36 right now. The second rounder is top 55 protected so we have it.

What do you think the Spurs want for Aldridge?

Watching him and embiid go at it right now and it's clear he's still got it.

I think we're more likely to see a trade similar to that of last year's deal with Cleveland that sent Wade Baldwin and Nik Stauskas and a couple 2nds for Rodney Hood.

One trade that I really would like to see is:

    Portland In: Jae Crowder (expiring)
Portland Out: Skal Labissiere, Anthony Tolliver, two 2nds

We need to target role playing vets on bad teams that we can acquire without having to give up too much.

What will Whiteside be making in his next contract? He could be a good backup center for the Trail Blazers. I would think about that along with any trades. We're not getting Kawhi Leonard for him.

Is there any realistic version of a Whiteside/Bazemore for LaMarcus Aldridge?
    Would Pop/Buford even consider.
'Cos that's who I want to see on this team. LaMarcus. He's really good, always been better than KLove or Blakey..
It could solidify Collins role as a 6th man. LA and Nurk?

That trade doesn't come close to working money wise and it would leave Whiteside as our only true big right now. The only real way to make a trade like that work with Memphis is to take on Solomon Hill instead. So something like Bazemore and one of Tolliver/Hezonja/Trent/Skal for Hill and Crowder.

A guy that fits the Hood scenario both contract wise and potentially skill wise is Mikal Bridges. He's down to about 20 minutes a game for the Suns and they just paid Oubre in the off season. Mikal's 3pt% is really bad this year but I think he's a better shooter than what he's shown and he is a really solid perimeter defender.

Wait, why on Earth would we give up a 1st round pick and Trent to take those two on?

Another thing people should consider is a trade like this adds $5.7 million more to our salary PLUS the tax on top of that which would roughly be about another $15-$20 million on top of what is already owed. It's very unlikely Jody would want to pay more money for this team this year.

Rumor is that Memphis wants a 1st round pick back in any Iggy trade. Are you willing to include that?

Nah. Doubt anyone gives that up either.
