No. We have our future coach in Hartford. Just need to get him up here next year and get rid of this clown behind the bench.

The problem with the Leafs is quite simple. Their defenseman suck ass. Their goalies suck ass. I say this every year. Each season moron GM's start out and think they have good defenseman and goalies only to realize they have shit. These GM's are clueless. They should be all over the Rangers trying to get Georgiev, Huska, Skjei, Rykov who hasn't played one AHL game yet, DeAngelo or role players who can play defense like Fast. Yet, they just sit there with their head up their asses.

SKJEI?! Hahahaha Don't bother responding with the old 'our shitty defenseman would be an upgrade on their team' BS here. If Skjei is the answer, the question is most certainly NOT "who can we add that's going to bolster our blue line".

Dumbass. Skjei is not a piece of garbage as you believe. This fan base always bashing the defenseman. Staal yes. Skjei, he just struggles the first 30-40 games for some reason. Guess you haven't paid attention to what Shattenkirk is doing this year. Or the fact Pionk is playing over 2o minutes a night for the Jets and has some points to boot. You might also want to take note of Ryan Graves and what he's doing for the Av's who couldn't get a chance here under imbecile AV.

If Georgievs GAA was better I'd say try and deal him for a 2nd but he's hurting his value with the numbers. I think he'll end up our exposed draft goalie.

LOL...I just looked at Graves stats. Why in the world was he let go? I remember him being in the system. I guess he is one of those late bloomers.

Skjei will just end up exposed if he's screwing around, with that contract. Hopefully he gets it together and realizes he needs to take coming into the season seriously. Or they'll end up trading him for .50 on $1 in 2y.

He was let go because AV was a dumbass who didn't value stay at home defenseman at all. He just wanted puck moving defenseman which is why our defense started to suck ass under him. What Grevy doesn't understand is there is a little something called coaching in the NHL. Also something called defensive systems. Unfortunately, a lot of fans are dumb and think because a player on your team with talent, isn't playing as well as expected, he's useless to every team in the NHL. Moronic thinking and it doesn't work like that. IMO, Quinn is not a good NHL coach. Andersson played his first game for the Pack and scored. He's now playing for a legit coach. Skjei is a top 4 defenseman. I think his off-season conditioning could use work as he seems to be a consistent slow starter. However, with his size and speed he would have a lot of value to any team out there looking to improve their defense core.

You spent the majority of your post talking about players I didn't mention so good work there. Skjei's defensive abilities are the equivalent of a traffic cone at this point. But, good argument that he struggles for the first 30-40 games...at least you concede that he is a liability for half of the season. So clearly we agree.

So much for Trouba being a power play QB. Fox has a better offensive skill set than him

He's the only righty dman on our team with size. I stated at the time of the trade his offensive production would be 20 to 35 points. I knew he wasn't going to play the PP here with Fox and DeAngelo. He is what he is. Right now I would say that Kravtsov and DeAngelo will be the package in the next big Gorton deal. No way they deal Lundkvist who also has some offensive skills but is on another level defensively and hockey sense wise than DeAngelo. DeAngelo has improved but as I've said many times. Size matters on defense and you can't have three, 5'11 righty defenseman in your lineup. Would love to see them use Kravtsov and DeAngelo in a package to get Hertl. Zibanejad is a major concussion problem now. Can't count on him going forward.

Skjei had lousy teachers between AV the softie and Marc Staal, one of the worst dmen in the NHL for the past 3 years. Graves was big and physical. a no-no for AV so away he went. I think Quinn has a lot of challenges to overcome with such a young team but I liked his sending a message to Hank, Staal and Skjei early. Chytil started down in Hartford and found his game, think the same will happen with Lias and he'll be back soon enough.

If Lias was smart he would ask to stay all year in the AHL and stay away from Quinn. Play as much as possible under a real coach. From what I see Quinn has no idea to coach different types of players. Seems like he only can coach more creative players. He doesn't have much of an idea what to do with the grinder, two way types like the team used to have in Callahan, Dubinsky and Anisimov. Lemieux is kind of an instigator and those types usually can play for any coach. Howden is more of a two way, grinder and he's having almost no success under Quinn.

Devils GM sucks ass. That's the problem. Scouts are incompetent. Started with senial old Lou who ran the team into the ground because he has no clue how to draft any longer.
