You guys are trippin. Just because you see dribble hand offs doesn't mean it's the same play or the same set. I see us running a lot of Horns, Floppy, Flare, and 1-4 low. Our offense is complex. It's our defense that's DIII.
I feel like our playbook is maybe 5 plays... Sometimes they run different actions on the plays but it doesnt seem that extensive to me. The defense on the other hand, Im pretty sure I could coach a bunch of middle schoolers how to play those schemes...
I'm trippin? Obviously they don't just run one set, they just run the same sort of actions out of these sets, and don't have a variety of sets that can take advantage of different defensive schemes. You really think I don't pay attention or know my shit? Show some respect. Our offense is not complex at all. Horns? We have no wrinkles to it, especially wrinkles that free up cutters to the rim or collapse the defense. The only cut we get to the rim out of a set Horns action is when the win curls the pin down. Then the guard comes for a perimeter handoff which is essentially a. pick n roll, nothing more. Floppy involves guards running baseline then cutting AWAY from the rim, catching the ball on the perimeter, then having to create from there. Flare? Another perimeter cut, which is usually followed by the other guard cutting AWAY from the rim on the opposite side. In that set, the guards get the ball on the perimeter, and then are supposed to create something from there. 1-4? Isolation, where we task our guards with creating something out of nothing. That's our entire offense. Letting our guards create something out of nothing. Out sometimes create open jumpshots, but they never collapse the defense because of any specific action.
I'm not calling it until I hear that Nurk is not coming back this season. I'm a stubborn old fart, I know.
this felt like a season-defining loss tonight ... the team talked about how they needed it, Dame returns, no Kevin Love, Cavs on the second night of a back to back after losing by 40, and yet we lose and it wasn't really ever a contest i've tried looking for silver linings, but it's nearly impossible at the moment. the season feels lost. just get a good draft pick and start over next year.
Exactly how I feel. I've never had so many games that I've recorded, and then just deleted instead of watching. Reading the game threads after the fact, make me feel bad for all the guys that actually watched them. Same thing, over and over. IMHO, there is still time. Shit has to change fast though....
Huge silver lining here for me. I start another big training and development process this week and will be extremely busy for the next 3 weeks. Not gonna be trying to fit games in the middle of it. If they were rolling it would be very tough not to watch. The way it stands i am not stressing about catching the last half or checking lineups and trying to come up with a pre game. Blazers can start their epic march back into playoff contention starting December 15th.....
Same here. I try not to let one or two losses sway me but you can't loose 4 games in a row to subpar teams and remain competitive. The west is too good and too deep. I'm not going to tune in for every game to see us play like garbage night in and night out, I've got more important things i should be doing plus there is simply no fun in losing. I'm sure I'll check in to see where we stand every once in a while but I'm already looking towards this summer and hopefully a deep draft class.
I won't call it until I see what our 3rd roster will look like after the next trade...let the cards fall....if you wind up with a lottery gem, great but that's no reason to stop competing every game. Not getting a championship this season isn't a big deal to me given the Western Conference loading up with Team USA talent. Losing now also means Nas, Ant, Skal and Trent are going to develop with more burn...there's something to gain in a transitional roster season.
The question is, if that trade comes can they tread water until then? Cause the whole they’re digging is going to make the work harder.
