Okay but that isn't really what you were saying. First off any QB that wins two national championships is a great QB. I don't care if his game translates to pros or not. But secondly Hebert's game does and he has lost 4 games in two years. Maybe it didn't turn out as well as you would have liked but for the teams they had around him last year and this year with the coaching issues he has had i would think this kid is not just good but very good. Guess we have to disagree on this. But we are talking losing a Stanford game last year that fell squarely on Cristobal. We are also talking about losing a game this year at Auburn that was not on Hebert either. I could even go further and say they should not have lost that game last night. One big 81 yard breakdown pretty much sealed that game. Lets see where he goes in the draft and what he does in the pros.
Its frustrating to hear how amazing Herbert is when he hardly ever makes NFL throws and has very rarely came through in big games for the Ducks. He is the QB and he does take some blame for the epic meltdown at Stanford, some of the ridiculous TO’s on the goal line. For the offense looking punch drunk for several series’ in a row. Last night for instance they basically did nothing for after the first drive until the game was basically out of reach. They compromised their defense over and over and over. The problem with Oregon under cristobal has been the offense whether its Skill players, play calling whatever it is the least explosive offense maybe in the pac12. They win because he does a good job most of the time of not losing the game. He’s basically a college game manager to me, and thats fine but he has basically not done anything special in college. Darren Thomas was a better college QB, but not a good nfl prospect.
