Stoppage seemed fast but Covington was hurt pretty badly.

Usman with a championship surge to win the ting.

Great win by Yan who elevated himself with a win over a hard-hitting but not up to the task Urijah Faber.

Moraes/Aldo was a great fight and it was a shame that it finished in Moraes favour and not as a draw. Aldo was up to it.

Nunes, Volkan, and Usman all fought very smartly. Not shocking that all three nearly went the distance as the game plans were to work to strengths and be patient.

Nunes really did fight like GSP, I think, except we only saw GSP outmatched on the feet that one time (well, two...). de Randamie (quite surprisingly) was the better striker and Nunes wanted none of it. Great win by Nunes nonetheless as it was a triumph over adversity as well as a showcase of her grappling and wrestling.

Volkanovski fought perfectly. We have seen Holloway hurt on the feet before; there wasn't much that hurt him in this fight but Volkan definitely was the hammer. Holloway has been a great champion but this is two losses for him in three fights. He might need to switch some things up. Volkan vs. Zabit next?

Usman/Covington was a wonderful fight. Relentless MMA kickboxing for five rounds. Usman seemed to hurt his hand early in the fight and obviously Covington was badly damaged late. Both showed great tenacity throughout. The crowd reacted to everything Covington did which attests to his appeal, no matter how manufactured. Usman broke down Covington in the fifth in superior fashion.

Four hours is too much for me these days but all fights were worthwhile. Great year-end show.

According to Dana, we are getting Usman vs. Masvidal and Volkanovski vs. Holloway II.

Amazing fight by Usman, loved it...major win for him. I don't understand the judging of people who had it 2-2 and even 3-1 Colby. I thought it was clear as day 3-1, maybe even 4-0 Usman. I hope Covington doesn't talk his way into a rematch.

I'm glad Volkanovski won, I thought he deserved it and I thought the judges were going to screw him. I had it 3-2 Volkanovski; don't understand how one judge had it 5-0. I could see 4-1, but scored it 3-2.
