Gabriel’s numbers in the g league this year 7 games 25 mpg 26.7 PER .732 TS% 18.5 TRB % 6.4 BLK % 5.2 BPM You can argue sample size, but the shooting is legit, as he had a true shooting percentage of .573 last year in 40+ games and is a 77% FT shooter overall. His other percentages line up as well. 6’9 with a 7’1 wingspan. Yeah, I’m intrigued. Rather watch him than Tolliver any day.
If nothing else, I don't have to get annoyed any more by Bazemore's decisions with the ball. Holy shit he had terrible decision making.
We are still over the cap either way. Not like we could have used Baze's money if he had left. I am sure someone who understand the salary cap more will jump in, but we will still only have the MDE next year.
weak...for basketball reasons obviously there has been an edict from Seattle to start cutting costs. Ariza will almost certainly be waived by the end of June.
I'm really not sure. If I had to guess this trade combined with the fact that we haven't signed anyone with the open roster spot(s), not even to a 10-day contract, probably means that they're more concerned with the tax payments than it being a part of something bigger.
Why are people angry? How many extra wins does the trade generate this season - and why is that even a concern? How many extra wins does it generate next season? We couldn't wait for the end of the season for Baze to leave - we had to PAY someone to take him off our hands? Expiring contracts now have a negative value? But hey - the team saved some $$$, so it's all good!
