The loophole was indeed closed in the last CBA. If we traded Ariza in the off season his contract for the 2020-21 season would have to be guaranteed (with a few exceptions like if the team was under the salary cap or we traded him for a player making around $1.8 million).
Ummm, the years leading up to Paul's death he made trades to get out of the tax including trading Crabbe for Nicholson and then stretching his contract and trading Vonleh away for nothing. So what are you talking about?
I don't think arizas was the main player that Olshey wanted I think it's Gabriel that Olshey and swanigan was throw in to complete the trade. Gabriel is for the future and Arizas was for remainder of the season at SF. But the 2 month Gabriel will get his chance to play until some of our guys get back from injuries.
Gee, color me surprised that you’re not thrilled. Ariza is 34, not 36. Hood may or may not be able to return by the start of next season, but he’ll likely play at some point. Wesley Matthews and Rudy Gay were able to return from the same injury, and Durant is expected to be back next season. Hood is only 27, so it’s likely he can return as an effective player. Ariza buys a year for him to transition back. Little may develop into the long term answer at that position.
that's DRPM, not RPM what you want is a two-way player. Ariza's RPM is 25th among SF's at 0.59. Bazemore isn't far behind at 0.44. But, Bazemore has 0.81 RPM wins vs Ariza at 0.68. I should learn how to tweet...I could tweet as much inanity as a lot of these guys
WE can work with that, Stotts' history is that he won't unless absolutely forced to when we are so depleted it won't make a difference.
I’d do that. LMA would be a great vet fit for a team like us next year when Nurk and Collins are back healthy. He can be the first big off the bench to rotate for Nurk and Collins while Skal is your other insurance. I’d just hope LMA is up for that role
I don't think he's a long term solution at the wing, I just think he's a better short term solution than Baze was.
