Swanigan is back. What will that do? Nothing.

One of the best writers when it comes to the cap.

I'd be surprised if he actually ever suits up for the Blazers. I'm anticipating that he's cut within 1 week of the deal being complete.

If he is, he is likely trying to trip Rudy Fernandez's dad going while going down the stairs.

As for what Neil can do with Ariza's contract in a trade, isn't the answer obvious? He's out of 2nd round picks for the next half dozen-ish years, so....................
..................ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Taking Neil's 2nd round picks renders him chauffer-less.

Its better when jokes have some truth to them. Olshey still has numerous second rounders to trade.

...or it's more fun when the 'gotcha police' don't have to point out every little obvious thing. Off course he does. Can people still stick to only 100% factual humor please from now on for my friend Scalma.

    Upon further review,
2020 2nd round pick to to Brooklyn (31-55 protected)
2021 2nd round pick to Memphis
2023 2nd round pick to Detroit
2024 2nd round pick to Sacramento
    2025 2nd round pick to Sacreament0

I believe the original post was, "He's out of 2nd round picks for the next half dozen-ish years".

Dozen-ish....and he has 1 in the next 6 years. Sounds pretty accurate to me.....but I'm sure you'll find some way to pick at it. Have fun. I'll enjoy the effort as alwasy.

Technically we can trade the 2020 one with reverse protections.

    ;)

Quite correct....but don't take his thunder. I was leaving him that obvious out so he could feel superiorly correct.

I have this sad vision of him 20 years from now - hanging around the playground trying to convince kids he was a once an NBA player.

Three second round picks to trade in the next half dozen years.....doesn’t sound like he’s out.

In the next 6 drafts, Olshey has traded 5 of our picks. (one conditionally) That is the relevant point here.

What 3? Seems like 1 in 2022 and a reverse protected pick that has already been traded that he could possibly trade with conditions somewhere else.

So he has 1 full 2nd round pick in the next 6 years. Please elaborate further.

The 2026 draft is actually 7 years (drafts) away. So best case they only have 2 in the next 6 years.

Also, I don't think the 2026 pick is even eligible to be traded yet.

You can trade draft picks through the next 7 drafts, so the 26 one can be traded this season.

    2020 - conditional
    2022 - legit
2026 more than 6 years away.

Whatever it takes, right?....or, they have 1 full pick to trade in the next 6 years which means in 5 of those years (6-ish) they have no pics.. So to go back to the original, it wasn't nearly so far off.....especially for being something that was making light of Neil's trade history.
