Ate at Shalom y'all, they had a separate tip line for the kitchen. This happens here in LA too. Other places are adding surcharges for the raise in the minimum wage. Others are adding in surcharges for healthcare. In Las Vegas, they are adding surcharges similar to resort fees. Some places are charging for the water. In San Diego, some establishments have a "gas lamp surcharge". Bunch o bullshit.
Oh yeah, uber eats menu prices are like 20% higher than restaurant dine in. Then they charge you the service fee and delivery fee too.
I asked a person who might be considered kitchen help, clearing the table at Ruth's Chris Steak House if they got a percentage of the tip. The answer was that she was new, having been hired less than a month ago and didn't know. I'm going to assume that she gets a percentage of the tips which all the waiters must report accurately. I'm not optimistic. Some provision for that needs to be accounted for on each bill.
Generally waitresses “tip out” the bussers and kitchen staff with a percentage of their own tips, and credit card tips are divided up automatically amongst staff. But I could see how such a complex system requiring advanced math equations and problem solving could confuse a Californian. Keep it simple! Im highly interested in the science behind giving politicians money to help lessen the carbon footprint. I guess what happens is the money actually encapsulates carbon in its gas form, and converts it into clean energy powder using photosynthesis, which can in turn be used to power homes and cars or mixed into kale smoothies to make you smarter. After the process is complete, the money can be washed and put into accounts where it will definitely not be misappropriated.
We never tip using our credit card. We always tip in cash. We had a nice dinner on Christmas Eve and I told my wife we should tip the waitress extra because here she was giving up her Christmas Eve to serve us dinner. As we were leaving she was so happy that she exclaimed that now she could get something nice for her daughter. At that point I wished I had tipped her more.
lol, going to Vegas this weekend and I did online check-in for my room (avoid having to talk to front desk). Opted out of housekeeping services, so I get a $10 food and beverage credit. Still have to pay the fucking resort fee.
Rio. Have a 1,600 sq ft suite for like $130/night. Wanted to check that place out again, driving up from LA, so its good to have free parking. I guess its AVN (porn weekend) too.
