Was exactly my thought. They were zone and only guarded him on the one 3 from the wing, He got into a groove shooting standstill 3s. He also went over Poeltl's back big time during that stretch and knocked him into the crowd. Anyone else is called for an over-the-back foul. Ended up leading to a fast break and a basket.
Hard to get too excited for a player who can't stay healthy. I hope the best for him as I do believe he is a quality person.
Has no clue / game is too fast for him defensively right now but has had some good 1v1 sequences vs AD in the post. Tough to move and can get a decent contest in at times. Watching him run right through / elevate over AD at the end of the half was scary. Such a unique physical talent...1 of 1.
Zion has 10 straight games with 20+ points This is the longest streak by a rookie in NBA history, surpassing Carmelo Anthony
Heard Doug Gottlieb (i think) say something like since Zion's been playing, he's leading the league in "points per touch" or something like that. Now I don't care too much for analytics, but sounds pretty impressive.
I think the massive hype around Zion caused a big backlash, which is now causing those people to underrate him. I saw similar things when LeBron James entered the league. Not to say Zion will ascend to the heights of James, but whenever an insanely hyped rookie enters the league, there's always a large subsection of fans who insists he's not worth the hype.
