I could never hold that kind of prestige. I would crumble under the pressure.

Also says they were looking for younger guys with potential. So I don't think Portland had what they wanted and Olshey probably realized that fairly quickly. But, then, why didn't we have any young guys with strong potential?

Now if Pritchard would just spill the beans on the process when they picked Oden; that's what I really want to hear!

CJ's only 10 months older than Oladipo and was coming off his career season while Olsdipo was coming off his worst. And it wasn't that the Indiana owners didn't want draft picks, it was more that they wanted a re-set instead of a rebuild. They wanted some talent back, but certainly would not have refused a trade that hit that mark and added some picks. And I'm sure that was communicated to any teams asking about PG's price. So, if Olshey talked to them, which he said he did, it was probably made clear that CJ would be part of the price and that was the end of the road as far as Olshey was concerned.

this kind of makes Quick look full of shit. He said, more than once, that Portland was offering the three picks and a really good set of players. If the article is accurate, Portland never made a serious offer

I didn't realize Oladipo was just a year younger. That throws a different light on it.

I believe Neil’s offer was 3 picks and any players you want not named Dame, CJ, or Jusuf.

what he said, IIRC, was a combo of players and picks. And from things he hinted, the players were Meyers and Harkless which matches salary-wise. That's a crap offer for PG13, and that includes 3 non-lottery 1sts in the same draft

CJ definitely had much higher value than Oladipo at the time. Oladipo was not that good at Orlando and had a slightly above average season at OKC next to Westbrook. And Sabonis wasn’t great in his rookie season either, they would have probably even preferred to get that no. 15 and no. 20 instead. The issue was that Olshey would have never offered CJ in any kind of a deal, this was valid two years ago, is valid now and will be valid three years from now.

At the time this was considered terrible value for Indiana. With two years passed it was really an excellent piece of business... hindsight is great. It was great for OKC as well as they got that great season out of PG and traded him for a haul. The only ones who look like fools here are Orlando who traded Oladipo and Sabonis for Ibaka in the first place.

wow no Harden and Westbrook and Rockets beat the Jazz at Salt Lake.

Crazy game: The Wolves blew a 17 point lead to the Kings with only 3 mins left lol

I saw the Fox missed free throw and put back - but how did the other 15 points get away? If they had literally taken 24 second shot clock violations that game ends.
