No he's not... Hes a good 3pt shooter that plays well off Dame and he and Dame have a high level of chemistry. Theyre also willing to defer to each other.

You want Wiggins so I dont trust your guage for what the proper fit would be. Sorry.

Kevin O’Connor on my boy Valentine. He also suggests Aaron Gordon gets sent elsewhere and fills a Draymond like role as a small ball center.

    Buy Low on Denzel Valentine
It’s been a tough road for Valentine after being selected with the 14th pick in 2016. He struggled as a rookie after missing all of training camp with ankle injuries that nagged him throughout the season. Those pesky ankles eventually required surgery, which knocked him out for all of his third season. Now he’s back, but Bulls head coach Jim Boylen has been reluctant to put him on the floor over his group of younger guards, including Zach LaVine, Coby White, and Kris Dunn; Valentine has played in 28 games this season, mostly in garbage time.

How is it that a player who can’t even get on the floor for the Bulls is on this list? Because Valentine got dealt a bad hand. Injuries occur. Coaches change. Priorities evolve. The flashes Valentine showed in his second season, his only healthy season, shouldn’t be forgotten. He developed into a spark plug scorer and reliable playmaker, averaging 10.2 points while shooting 38.6 percent from 3 and posting a 2.5 assist-to-turnover ratio. They aren’t gaudy numbers, but he looked like the player Chicago hoped for. He’s doing it again now, making high-IQ plays with the pass, hitting nifty floaters on drives, and draining tough 3s off screens and out of pick-and-rolls.

Change his jersey from red to green, and Valentine would look like he’s right back at Michigan State, where he developed into a team leader and lottery talent over four years. His shooting has translated: Since 2017-18, Valentine has made 39.4 percent of his 170 attempted dribble-jumper 3s. It’s a small sample, but it was Valentine’s blend of shooting and playmaking that made him such an appealing prospect. How could the Bulls not be encouraged? If they don’t want him, another team should.

Are you suggesting trying to acquire Valentine? He doesn't really fit a real need as we have McCollum, Trent and Simmons at that position.

It's crazy how similar some of these stats are:
    Ariza is 6'8, 215, 7'2 wingspan
    Roco is 6'7, 211, 7'2 wingspan

He's yet another SG at 6'4 and already 26. I wonder if they'd part with Hutchison. He worked out with Dame and his trainer before his draft and he's a clear cut forward with good size. He's also been coming on as of late.

sorry, must have forgotten about that guard that runs Portland’s second unit. What’s his name again?

Do you have to respond so condescendingly every time? You want to get another guard instead of a forward?

If I read something I think is stupid, yeah.

Aren’t you the one that’s been campaigning for Bogdanovic? Valentine is a cheaper version and is built almost identical.

    Valentine: 6’5.75”, 6’10.75” wingspan

    Bogdanovic: 6’6”, 6’11” wingspan

And neither is a priority over getting yet another guard now. We need size on the wings and in the paint.

oh so Bogdanovic isn’t needed now. How convenient. And how is it more of a priority now after they acquired Ariza?

    One guy is averaging 15-3-3.
    The other is averaging 6-2-1.

You are saying they're "almost identical"

    Speaking of something stupid.

I 100% agree with you on offense. I 100% disagree with you on defense.

Total strawman to even bring them up. They're not comparable at all. Valentine is a fringe NBA player.

Ariza is a short term solution not a long term solution. Covington would be my choice as he has good size, good defense and can hit the 3. In other words, a younger version of Ariza. Otto Porter jr is another player with a bad contract that we are trying to avoid and only produces about the same as Covington but seems to have injury problems.

They’re built the same so if Bogdanovic could physically play small forward in your eyes, so could Valentine. I’m using your own logic. But between your long standing hatred of Valentine and Whiteside, you really love to double down when your flawed stances get challenged huh?

It's not hatred, holy hell. Stop taking so much offense.

I simply said Hutchison would be a better prospect and target for us if we want a Bull this deadline. Bogdanovic is an NBA player who our best player has a clear connection with and we should see if we can pursue this summer. As he does with Hutchison btw. Dame's trainer and college asst coach was CH's head coach in college. Valentine is a primarily a guard who is barely hanging on as a prospect at age 26 still on his rookie contract. Will he even be in the NBA after his rookie deal expires?

One guy is probably going to cost a first rounder while the other could probably be had for a second. One guy is going to cost $10M+ this summer while the other could probably be had for at least half.

Am I saying Valentine is better? Not really. But when you weigh up the cost, Valentine is worth a look.

Valentine is in a shitty situation surrounded by guards that Chicago has more invested in. Not that crazy of a concept. Just look at the Blazers. If everyone were healthy, Trent wouldn’t even be playing right now. Valentine will definitely be in the league next year and I’m confident he’ll be a rotation player once he gets put in a better situation.
