Oh, I don't know. There may be a germ of a cogent thought there somewhere, but I admit I didn't flesh it out well. I blame my employer for distracting me. barfo
Evangelicals, at least some large portion, believe that moving the embassy to Jerusalem is a step in the end times, when about 1/3 of Jews become Christians and the rest exterminated. I mean, I find it hard to see that as pro-Jewish. Basically their position is we should all convert. Also most Jews trend liberal/progressive and are adamantly pro-choice, per Jewish law and our commitment to separation of church and state. I have not heard him say to Irish Americans that Ireland is their true country or the Irish PM their prime minister. Or Italian Americans. Or tell Japanese Americans the emperor of Japan is their ruler. He talks about how Jews have to vote for him because of money. He says he only wants "little guys in yarmulkes" to take care of his money. He uses "shifty" as epithet for Adam Schiff. He constantly uses anti-Semitic tropes. Also figure in Jewish Americans are largely urban, largely college educated, both things "real Americans" are not. And don't support Trump.
Comments like the bolded are part of the problem. Just because certain groups of people take shots at you. Doesnt give you the right to take shots at them. Be the bigger person or be part of the division. I say this to you, because those who take shots at you will never change. Hoping you might.
I don't think crandc was taking shots at Trump supporters. Her point, as I understood it, was that the people that Trump (and, commonly, Republicans in general) refer to as "real Americans" tend not to be those who live in cities and attend universities, but rather those who live in rural communities and work jobs that don't require a university education. And the reason Republicans lionize that second group of people is because those people tend to be significantly more conservative. If city-dwellers were the conservative ones, they'd be the ones Republicans refer to as "real Americans."
Trump supporters no? Americans? Yes. It's just frustrating to read/hear comments from those who say they want to end division. Those who are stereotyped daily... But then help fester division. Two wrongs don't make a right. You cannot combat hate with hate. P.S. This whole real american/american ploy is utter nonsense. I don't even like using the differentiating terms. As it only fosters division.
Bingo And segregation is now alive and well on campuses. It’s going backwards rather than coming together with some common ground or give and take.
Sorry, but just stating a fact. "Real America" as defined by Trumpers are white, Christian, straight, not artists, not college educated, don't live in major cities, West coast, New York or Massachusetts. That's not my reality, it's theirs.
Ok, now you’re just making shit up. Could you send me a link to the Trumpers, LLC website so I can read their mission statement with all this crazy shit in it? I think your own divisiveness is being mistaken for that of others. Or at the very least, you’re doing you’re best to match any prejudices you perceive with more stereotypes and prejudices.
Well now we all know you have something in common with Trump. Pretty much. It's all about being the loudest now. Very few people on either side wish to hear the other. They just wish to drown out the other with their own nonsense. Thankfully the next generations don't see the world this way yet.
That's baloney, I know many whites, blacks, asians, hispanics, women and men of different religions or none at all that, are Real Americans form both the midwest and south/se that voted for Trump as they didnt want Hillary. Theses are people Ive known for years and some family members, and thats not how they would and they are Real American's. Why play the segregation divisive card all the time. Try and find some common ground and maybe give and take with a few of your American Neighbors. It doesn't always have to be about politics.
Ah, you got me all wrong. I'm a working man, been collecting a paycheck since I was 16. I used to be a Teamster, bet you didn't figure that either. barfo
I always just pictured you as Walter White. Minus the lung cancer. (Let's not even bring up the subject of Lupus. This forum can't take that again.)
Don't look to a mission statement to define the Trump cult, look to Trump's early morning tweets while he sits on the throne.
For three years we have heard a stream of non-stop insults and slurs from the occupant of the white house, but those who protest are divisive? Oldest trick in the book. I call bullshit. I am a Warren supporter myself, but if Trumpers call Sanders a communist, he can just point out he is not the one kissing the ass of Putin and Kim Jong Un.
You're spewing it, it's yours. Own it. I totally had you pegged as a Teamster. That's why I've been scared to engage you in debate all these years...
