    Achiuwa's double-double leads No. 21 Memphis past USF 68-64

Penny Hardaway sees No. 21 Memphis coming together as a team that'll have to be reckoned with by season's end.

"We're building," the coach said Sunday after the Tigers rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to beat South Florida 68-64 and stop a two-game losing streak that's threatened to knock them out of the AP Top 25.

No. 23 Wichita State holds off UConn 89-86 in 2 OTs

Wichita State gave up a nine-point point lead in just over a minute at the end of regulation and had two key players foul out during two overtimes.

Davis scores 20, SMU uses late run to upset No. 20 Memphis

SMU rallied and rallied but kept falling short -- until its defense kicked things up another level.

The Mustangs held No. 20 Memphis scoreless over the final six minutes and completed a 74-70 comeback victory Saturday. Kendric Davis led SMU with 20 points and five assists -- his 14th straight game with at least five assists -- but it was the shooting and defense late that made the difference.

Mills, Grimes help No. 21 Houston beat East Carolina 69-59

Houston coach Kelvin Sampson had just watched his 21st-ranked Cougars grind through a road win when he ran across East Carolina's Jayden Gardner in the hallway outside his postgame news conference.

The veteran coach couldn't hold back his praise for an opponent who made things difficult on his young team, even after Houston had led by double figures much of the night in a 69-59 win.

No. 17 Houston takes big lead, tops No. 14 Texas Tech 64-53

Houston coach Kelvin Sampson heard the Texas Tech-heavy presence of a pandemic-limited crowd for the meeting of the old Southwest Conference foes on a supposedly neutral court in Texas.

The 17th-ranked Cougars still turned aside a rally after running out to a big lead against the No. 14 Red Raiders and coach Chris Beard.

Marcus Sasser scored 17 points playing close to home, Quentin Grimes added 15 and Houston never trailed in a 64-53 victory over Texas Tech on Sunday in a meeting of teams that went deep in the most recent NCAA Tournament in 2019.
