Edwards leads Georgia to surprising win over No. 13 Auburn

Bruce Pearl looked ahead to the postseason when he attempted to place perspective on No. 13 Auburn's loss to a Georgia team on the doorstep of last place in the SEC.

Georgia coach Tom Crean also looked ahead -- to next season and beyond -- as he celebrated a win that he hopes gives momentum to his efforts to rebuild the program.

Anthony Edwards scored 18 points, including a late 3-pointer to slow Auburn's comeback attempt, and the Bulldogs beat the Tigers 65-55 on Wednesday night.

Quickley scores 30 as No. 8 Kentucky downs Texas A&M 69-60

Immanuel Quickley swears he had no idea he'd made a career-best eight 3-pointers on Tuesday night until he looked at the boxscore after the game.

"I really thought I had four and then I looked at it and said, `I don't remember any of those," he said.

Quickley also set a career-high with 30 points thanks to his hot long-range shooting to lead No. 8 Kentucky to its seventh straight win, 69-60, over Texas A&M.

Fulkerson scores 27, Tennessee stuns No. 6 Kentucky 81-73

On the brink of being blown out, Tennessee stuck with the plan against No. 6 Kentucky by creating opportunities and then making them count.

The Volunteers emerged with a huge victory that snapped the Wildcats' hot streak along with 10 perfect years of holding a double-digit halftime lead.

John Fulkerson scored a career-high 27 points, and Yves Pons made several key jumpers down the stretch as Tennessee rallied from a 17-point deficit to upset Kentucky 81-73 on Tuesday night.

Huskers' Walker To Sit 16 Games For Violation At Tennessee

This March 27, 2019 file photo shows Tennessee's Derrick Walker (15) during
practice for the NCAA men's college basketball tournament in Louisville, Ky.
The NCAA has suspended Walker for the first 16 games of the season for a rules violation while he was at Tennessee in 2018-19. The Nebraska athletic
department made the announcement Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, shortly before
the Cornhuskers' opener against McNeese State.

The NCAA has suspended Nebraska's Derrick Walker for the first 16 games of the season for a rules violation while he was at Tennessee in 2018-19.

The Nebraska athletic department made the announcement Wednesday shortly before the Cornhuskers' opener against McNeese State.

The 6-foot-8, 232-pound junior forward played limited minutes for the Volunteers team that reached the NCAA regional semifinals in 2018-19. Walker sat out last season at Nebraska under transfer rules.

Missouri Builds Big Lead, Holds off No. 21 Oregon in Omaha

Oregon forward Eugene Omoruyi (2) shoots a free throw against Missouri
during the first half of an NCAA college basketball game, Wednesday, Dec. 2,
    2020 in Omaha, Neb.

Missouri passed its early test against No. 21 Oregon, validating coach Cuonzo Martin's belief that a Tigers team that returned four starters is poised to move up in the Southeastern Conference.

Xavier Pinson scored 19 of his 22 points in the second half and Missouri overcame a mid-game lull and late Oregon flurry to beat the Ducks 83-75 on Wednesday night.

Fulkerson 15 points, 12 boards as No. 12 Vols top Cincinnati

When the offense struggled, No. 12 Tennessee turned to its defense and found success.
The Vols, who shot just 32 percent from the field, held Cincinnati to three points in the final six minutes to pull out a 65-56 victory Saturday.

No. 10 Tennessee clamps down on Appalachian State, 79-38

Tennessee forward Corey Walker Jr. (15) moves past Appalachian State guard Michael Almonacy (5) during an
NCAA college basketball game in Knoxville, Tenn., on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020.

Appalachian State shot just 28% and it still hurt Tennessee’s season statistics. That says something about the way the No. 10 Volunteers are playing defense.

Tennessee (3-0), which came into the game holding opponents to 26% shooting, kept the Mountaineers (4-2) scoreless for the first 6:22 and coasted to a 79-38 victory Tuesday night.

against Tennessee Tech Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, in Knoxville, Tenn.

Jaden Springer, Tennessee's 6-foot-4 freshman, is becoming more comfortable in his role — and it's translating into production.

Springer scored 21 points to lead No. 10 Tennessee over Tennessee Tech 103-49 on Friday night.

No. 8 Tennessee tops USC Upstate 80-60

Ready or not, here it comes.

A preseason that was paused for a couple weeks. No exhibitions. A marquee game against Gonzaga scrapped. An early schedule haphazardly cobbled together. Then, a stretch of four games in eight days.

The Southeastern Conference season is finally next for No. 8 Tennessee. The Volunteers (6-0) battled Wednesday in an 80-60 victory over USC Upstate.

No. 7 Tennessee routs No. 12 Missouri 73-53 in SEC opener

Yves Pons can help Tennessee win games even without scoring, yet he’s perfectly capable of dominating on offense, too.

On Wednesday night, the reigning Southeastern Conference defensive player of the year did a bit of everything, leading the seventh-ranked Volunteers to a 73-53 victory over 12th-ranked Missouri.

No. 12 Missouri hands Arkansas first loss of season, 81-68

Cuonzo Martin was known as a physical player when he played at Purdue in the early 1990s. His Missouri Tigers sure looked like one of his teams on Saturday.

The No. 12 Tigers gritted their way to a bruising win at Arkansas, 81-68, with old-school post play and hard challenges.
