I think he's like Trump in that he doesn't really have any particular party affiliation. He seems more liberal on social issues, but I think both are just in love with the presidential power trip and would pretty much adopt whatever alliances and positions needed for them to win.

If you really want to compare them, Trump and Michael Bloomberg are both racist men who know when to pay off their mistresses. More will be coming out about Bloomberg now that he jumped into the race. I can't imagine someone with as much baggage as Trump has being a better option is all.

Ok, This is the main headline photo on Drudge Report: 440DA757-39E7-4D40-99BC-65A887B22A86.png

Am I high, or are his hands clearly edited to appear cartoonishly large?

Maybe a subtle Trump “tiny hands” jab?

Sort of looks ridiculous though. I doubt Michael Bloomberg’s hands are the same length as his torso.

I suspect that this was shot with very wide-angle lens. When that happens - if you are not holding the camera straight - y0u are going to get distortion, it is just the physics of wide-angle lens.

Specifically what you are seeing here is pincushion distortion.

Right, I figured there was some “technique” at play. I was just speculating if it might be done purposefully or not, seems like an excessive amount of distortion to choose not to edit out, especially in a professional shoot.

With that being said, I really enjoyed that link you provided. Are you into photography?

Glad you like it. Yes, photography is my small bucks hobby (since car racing / classic car ownership is so expensive). No clue why they chose that image - but that is why it is the way it is.

FWIW, photography can be a big bucks hobby to if one chooses to do so, I enjoy mostly shooting with vintage lens - which is pretty affordable if you are willing to do some work restoring old lens.

I acquired my grandma’s older Nikon camera, probably a mid-late 80’s model, with a zoom lens. Seems solid, like it was probably a pretty decent one in its day. I’d like to get it all cleaned up and loaded with some film. I take all kinds of cool pictures surveying in the middle of nowhere in WY, but my iPhone is only a one trick pony. It’d be cool to step up my game, even with just an old camera like that, given I’m already out in an environment ripe for good photo taking.

Washington argued that political parties needed to be restrained in a free country with a government empowered by the consent of the governed and established through popular elections. He warned of the possibility fearing they could distract the government from its required duty to the people and even lead to the eradication of the freedoms established by the founding.

Unfortunately, it is way too late to restrain the hunger for power in today’s political parties; it has been enculturated.

America is at the mercy of two powerful political parties. If a strong candidate wants to get elected to office in this country, one usually needs some affiliation to the major parties.

We see from history that third party forays are limited in strength and often serve only to undermine one or another of the major parties in the capacity of a “spoiler.”

If Washington could see America now, probably the only thing that he could say after getting over the shock, would be: “I told you so!”

I suspect that a zoom from that era is not going to be much better if at all than your iPhone. I do not think they really got good quality affordable zooms until at least the mid-90s unless they were professional giant zooms. I shoot a lot of vintage lenses - but I only buy primes - they are much simpler and you can get interesting ones - mostly vintage zooms are pretty bad optically.

If you know what kind it is - I can do some research on it and tell you if it is worth the hassle.

You might want to take a look at these add-on lenses that will fit your iPhone. They are rated pretty highly. Not quite the full versatility of a DSLR, but easy to carry and you always have your phone with you.

Well turns out it’s not a Nikon lol, shows how much I know.

    It’s a Canon ae-1 35 millimeter.

That is definitely an intriguing option. I have limited room for a big clunkey camera and lens, plus bouncing around on a four wheeler all day is probably pretty rough on vintage electronics, not to mention the cold weather and other elements.

Where in Wyoming do you live and how do you like it there? It's an area wife and I would like to explore maybe this summer in our trailer.

I’m in north-central WY a little ways outside of Sheridan, in the foothills of the Bighorn mountains. I really like it here, we’ve got mountains, plains, lakes and rivers all within minutes. We’re rarely bored. I would recommend absolutely, and buy you a beer if you’re around.

I spent time in Cheyenne when I was in the Air Force. Wyoming is beautiful and you could never run out of amazing places to visit for fishing, hunting & hiking. But, dang, those winters can be brutal.

That's the camera. What lens is on it? this is an ILC (interchangeable lens camera) - which means you can put crap or great lens on it - so that's what is really interesting. If it is a good lens, I would consider buying a cheap modern digital ILC camera and adapting it to that - if you do not want to shoot film.

But, to know if it is worth the hassle - tell me what kind of lens is on it.

BTW - even if you do not want to do that - it might be worth some money, based on what it is (the lens, the camera, I am not sure).

    For example:

This camera has the Canon FD 50mm 1.8 lens, it is a cheap, but good quality "nifty fifty" on it - they are not expensive - but they are very good lens when you adapt it to a modern camera - and well worth playing with. One of my favorite lens is the Minolta equivalent of this lens, it is a Rokkor MD 50mm 1.7 - and it is a great lens.

    On the other hand:

This camera has a zoom lens from Soligor, it is a 35-105mm at f=3.5 - I personally would not bother with this lens (I probably have a couple of them or equivalent that I got when I bought old cameras with a bunch of lens in them to get a specific lens - and I never bother mounting them, they just collect dust in an old drawer).
