Hell Lanny, if I thought Donald Duck could beat Trump, I'd vote for him.

why are you being so obtuse as there is nothing condescending in what any of us said unless you just take offense to any advice especially from your elders that have experienced much more than you have. We have been very open and honest, but you continually want to pigeon hole us all into a category based on our age.

I was assuming you were using grammar properly. Sorry if I was mistaken.

Quotation marks around single words can occasionally be used for emphasis, but only when quoting a word or term someone else used. Usually, this implies that the author doesn’t agree with the use of the term.

Maybe a better choice would have been to ask him to clarify rather than assume what he meant.

I kind of took your original comment as condescending. "That is ridiculous. Would you invest 13k in a project that promised you only your money back in 12 months? That's essentially what you are doing." Now, that could definitely just be me reading in tone that was not meant to be there. I wasn't really offended by it because it doesn't really bother me if people think I'm being an idiot (a.) I am sometimes an idiot, b.) it's easy to shrug that stuff off). It didn't really come across as, "Oh I'm offering you advice". -Again tone on the internet is often something that's hard to communicate.

    It wasn't a "single word".

And of course, Bernie is "a thing"...he's leading and getting stronger and if he continues on his current pace he may very well lock things up after Super Tuesday.

    Thank you.

When I first started posting here I was notified that sarcasm should be accompanied with a green font, isn't that correct?

Your language is very sarcastic and seems to be counterproductive to what you are trying to have understood. If you could revise it to a more acceptable way that someone could receive it then I think you would achieve greater positive results.

    Aw c'mon TBF...I don't think anyone thinks you're an idiot...anything but.

Regardless, I think it's time to let this thread "cool" for a bit...I'm out.

Right' or wrong, I always encase single words copied from other sources or as used in emphasis in single quotation marks. I enclose multiple word expressions used in that way in double quotation marks.
e.g. 'it' was vs. "it was". Maybe not exactly grammatically correct but why split hairs?

We all have our moments of being more idiot than not. I'm ok with myself - though always trying to learn.

I should not have brought up my tax return, I just brought it up because others were, I wasn't even really trying to make a big point about it. Oh well. So about the wealth tax.

I'm trying to help you and I'm sorry if I came across as heavy handed because that was not my intent. If you perceive me as heavy handed than I am being counterproductive. Nothing new there except that I'm trying to change.
