I was once a Republican, mostly due to wanting to balance the budget. But Republicans went too far in the wrong direction on social issues. I consider Medicare, social security and welfare to be social issues. Taxes and Golden Fleece award spending are budget issues.
Republicans have blown deficits sky high and Democrats reduced them. Except for guns and climate Bloomberg is Republican and like Trump sees himself as defender of white enclave under assault from scary dark people.
