Taces? He means tacos, right? I bet Paul Allen's fortune could buy some nice tacos.

That makes sense. It must cost outrageous money to relocate, carry debt, deal with service/professional costs and create a new logo. If I bought the team, it would be called the Northwest Blazers (a similarity to the New England Patriots). Everyone who is a member of S2 would get free tickets for life.

I prefer Portland Trail Blazers. I could be talked into Oregon Trail Blazers. But Northwest? I don't know...

I have always felt this way also on pretty much every type of sports franchise around here. At the very least "Oregon TrailBlazers". Comcast and it seems even the organization itself has gone a long ways into alienating pretty much the rest of the state other than the Portland area.

My favorite part of this garbage article is "And yes, the value could go up even more, but it could also drop if the TV deals go down in value, as is possible." Well no shit sherlock, anything is POSSIBLE but the price for live events on TV continues to climb so it's highly unlikely TV rights deals are going to go down anytime soon. Jody may end up selling and I don't think anyone would blame her BUT if it was really about the cash, why not sell the NFL team that is worth an extra billion?

In my opinion, either Ms Allen is either going to sell the team, or keep it. She might sell it now, she might sell it later, she might keep it forever too.

It's just one of those options.

I hope Jody Allen does sell the team... she’s enabled this no accountability culture that Neil is running. Hopefully we get an owner that demands change when people aren’t doing their jobs. Blazers were 4 games under .500 with Dame, CJ, Whiteside, and Hood healthy... and hovered around 6-8 games under .500 with Dame, CJ, Whiteside, Melo all healthy... with the highest payroll in the NBA... Nurk injury was already known coming into this season with the organization talking title... Zach Collins was averaging 8 points and 4 rebounds... he is not the reason this team is failing to perform.

The NFL team happens to be in Seattle and Im sure she's a bit more loyal to the City of Seattle, which I totally understand.
Im hoping for local ownership if/when she sells. I still think however, Bert Koldie will end up owning a large percentage of the team as he's a fan of the game & team.

I wouldn't bet against an ownership group trying to move the team to Seattle and banking on Portland fans staying true. A lot of you mcguffins support the Seachickens. They will assume that you will continue to support the Blazers despite moving them to our hated rival. At least I will be able to take solace in the fact that some of you will finally have a reason to hate Seattle.

I don't think the NBA would allow it.

"ooh, woops...shouldn't have let the Sonics leave Seattle, so let's let them move a team from the only other city within 800 miles that has a team! Yeah, that's a good idea!"

They wouldn't let the Kings move or the Clippers, both of which were SIGNIFICANTLY better options for moving.

the kings played in a DUMP for years...and the Clippers are always going to be 2nd bananas.

I think the chances of JA selling the Blazers are better than even. It might take some time, but I'd guess she eventually will

the chances the team moves after a sale are much, much less. However, it's time to be a little nervous if somebody from Las Vegas buys the Blazers

I mean we all know the reasons, just thought it was comical that old baldy didn't address that in his piece.

I'd have to become a Kings fan because they'd be the closest team to me assuming that ever happened :mook:

I think the new owner will rename the team Seattle Supersonics.

Would it be possible for Jody to sell the team to the fans like the Packer fans stockholders own them?

If you owned a team with the league's highest payroll, a sub-.500 record, and an obvious lack of pride, energy, and talent.....why wouldn't you consider selling them?
