By the way, this Dr. Richard Hobday has a phd in engineering.

He is not a medical doctor.

He also believes the sun can cure cancer.

I'm noticing that parts of the right-wing-o-sphere are calling Coronavirus the china virus. Pretty obvious agenda the parrots are peddling.

You did it, you mixed a strawman fallacy and an ad hominem fallacy in 3 sentences! :)

I'm only giving you a hard time. - That's what he said -

This virus has spurred a lot of debates in my household amongst the adults and I keep making a point that "Truth" is often what we as individuals decide it is. There are Billions of people, millions of "experts by degree" in just about every field, and you can really find "links" on the internet or one of those "supposed" experts to espouse just about any opinion, theory, ideology, etc that you want. In the span of like 2 hours with my parents on Saturday watching TV, we heard supposed "experts" saying, "This is a big deal, millions will die", to "this isn't a big deal you should do your days as normal" and several in between. How we choose what to believe largely comes down to the individual it's even really apparent here, someone posts a link from fox and 4-5 people laugh it off as well its Fox!" and then they post their own links with things that fit their own ideals but really the backing is the same, it's just opinion. It's an interesting world with so much information, some true, some not, some sort of.

He relates how sunlight can help prevent and heal many common diseases like breast, prostate and colon cancer, heart disease, multiple sclerosis and osteoporosis.

Well when I get prostate cancer (it runs in the family!), I'll go out naked and spread legs to the sun and see what happens. :)

I wasn't saying I agreed with this guy by the way just that as humans or dogs we do an incredible job of discarding information we don't like and accepting information that fits into how we view things. This isn't a slight at you, I think it's something we all do, and I find it fascinating. I should've been a psychologist, I would fit the bill as crazier than my patients.

I (we) do this all the time. I have to consiously fight against confirmation bias and yet I know I'm probably still failing all the time. The least we could do is to look in the mirror and be open to the fact that we all of this issue.

How long does the "no sports" edict have to last before you lose interest and never come back?

American sports have survived wars, terrorist attacks, assasinations, and numerous contageous diseases. I'm not sure why this time feels different.

I have three sons and starting a PSA base line at mid 30's has been recommended since both my grandfather, dad, uncles and me all had prostate cancer. They started checking my PSA at 40 and at 59 had the Robotic surgery. All clear for 10 years.

sorry to hear you have that in your family, but glad you've had a decade of clear results

I've been fortunate so far (68), but I sure don't like the initial test for enlarged prostate I endure once a year during my physical. When I had my first appointment with my current primary doctor, it was for a physical. I'd heard great things about him, but knowing what the physical was going to end with, so to speak, I was dismayed when I saw he was built like Dick Butkus and had fingers the size of radial tires. I make the same bad jokes every year, but they don't help
