Hey, I'm not Pelosi fan either...and you can add Trump, McConnell, and Schumer to that list...they all deserve each other.

Well I think you and I both seem to kind of not like any of them. I just find it politically such a weird move, like they should have Trump basically doing everything they want, so I don't get why they would fight that...

Yeah, he and Elaine and Costanza made the show to me...never was a fan of Seinfeld...terrible actor/comedian IMO.

I found Elaine kind of annoying Constanza was really good though, Seinfeld I find funny as a comedian not much of an actor though.

I'm having trouble making the link load too. However, the last I heard was that republicans and trump were adding corporate bail-outs to any universal check proposal. Maybe that's the opposition?

my wife and I can use the $2000-4000, but we don't need it. Be nice if there was an option to automatically forward the money to making more testing kits available or getting more protective equipment for medical workers

From what I read (not sure it was factual) or an opinion, she wanted to go with tax cuts and was worried about people getting money who didnt need it. Only spent a few minutes on google looking into it.

Yeah, I couldn't find much reporting on this beyond that article Sly posted. So all I can tell is that she wants money to be targeted to those who actually need it, rather than just a flat number for everyone. I can see both sides, if so. If you target the money, it can be much more efficient--instead of giving $1000 to someone who can ride this out comfortably, you can give $2000 to someone who might need every dollar of that.. On the other hand, targeting it is slower procedurally.

I was looking forward to those checks. We were going to use them to help relatives since we really don't need the money.

Good, I’d say that is a fair number nationwide as 75k doesn’t stretch as far as it would in California compared to Kansas. Wide blanket.

Still sucks for those that don't get it. Free money is free money.

75k is pretty lower middle class in LA. 1k would make a big difference, we can shop at Erewhon instead of Whole foods for example.

Sucks for us because we were going to use that money to help our disadvantaged relatives even more than we do.

True, but what’s the % of individual Americans that make more that 75k?

My question is, if this all goes through... I wonder if it’s possible to sign up for a direct deposit instead of physical check. I mean, I’d deposit it by phone but many more will flood the banks.

    Why should it matter?

Some people making $75k are still employed. Some people making $100k just lost their job and can't make their rent now.

I imagine that if you get your refund deposited electronically then so would this check. Why would it be different?

Helps the majority of Americans is my point. Help those who likely need it most.

also, I wonder if the 75k rule still applies if you have children? I think families will still get relief for them, no?
