No more AFL for a while. Technically they could have continued to play, but they felt it just wasn't morally right given the changing advice from governments.
Footy's back! I don't know how they found 6 minutes of highlights from this match, it was the lowest scoring AFL game since 1999. It was the first draw between Collingwood, and Richmond since 1917, and only the second draw between these two clubs in the 123 years they've been playing against each other.
@DUB did you see the pics I posted in the Return of Sports thread? I was up SUPER late last weekend and watched some rugby from down your way, but I wasn't sure which league I was watching. Yours or the other one. Game ended with a fight under the goalposts. Pretty exciting, punches thrown!
Yeah that was the Australian NRL, but it was hardly fight, more a friendly disagreement, with a bit of push and shove.
Carlton turned up late, and only started playing in the second quarter. Melbourne went home early, only playing the first quarter. It's the next morning, and I'm still angry with the Carlton players. Not showing up for the start of the game, only to fight back for an honourable loss is becoming a habit for them.
Still at least Carlton playing for only part of the match is better than Adelaide, who decided not to play at all. 2000 lucky season ticket holders won a lottery, and were able to attend this match.
