Just saying I keep seeing articles pop up that say "it's settled" "here's how we know" "nail in the coffin" etc and the evidence is simply less than that.

Intentionally releasing a virus on the world has been a scenario that has been discussed for many many years now. It is a very real concern. And when you consider how little resources it would take to do devastating worldwide damage it is in many ways a much more serious threat then a nuke being launched by some terrorist organization.

But if a nation or terrorist organization were to release a virus on the world they wouldn't do it in their own country. Too many risks. To even think about doing that in your own country you would first want to make sure you have a vaccine developed.

    China doesn't.

The most likely scenario would be to release the virus by using an infected person walking through a major airport such as Hong Kong, London, or New York. Spread it world wide before anyone even knew it existed.

It wouldn't be released in a wet market in your own country.

Now if it were released by accident from "an evil lab" China would have known this had happened and would have locked down Wuhan much much quicker. They wouldn't want to intentionally or accidentally release a virus on their own people.

Also they would have had treatments available much quicker.

When developing an evil virus one of the things that you would make sure of was that it couldn't be treated or slowed by a common already available drug. Kind of defeats the point of developing an evil virus.

    ...

Also these articles that say "it's settled" "here's how we know" because you have to know these thing in order to develop a vaccine.

I like that some of the same people blaming wet markets are also saying it escaped from a lab. It can't be both.

This is complete bullshit. If someone accidentally let a virus escape why on Earth would they have to know instantly? Many people seem to carry this virus with little obvious symptoms. It could be half way around the world before anyone knew.

You think scientists are advanced to the point that they can create a virus that no drug could possibly cure? What do you think they do, make them out of kevlar?

You think that scientists wouldn't possibly think outside the box against computer models and try something different?

On the other hand anyone who has ever bought something made in China should know that their products are the best in the world and never fail.

I'm also sure the people who designed the Tacoma Narrows Bridge never expected what was going to happen. Yet our government let it. Why would they do that to their own people? Oh yeah, they didn't know any better.

I don't even think it came from a lab but your reasons sound like these Senators explaining their stock sales.

i havent read anything else so mYbe this was mentioned but...

its not like north korea has roughly the same square miles and spread and amount of large cities like America has.

One of the issues is the large scale of our geological spread. Much harder to contain and control when a country is aBout 50 times the size of the one being compared to....

The Democratic plan also provides immediate aid and it's even better aid. So why blame Democrats and not Republicans. The Republican plan places us deeply in debt while helping the wealthy more than they need and helping the disadvantaged less than they need. Remember the tax cut? Some of us are sick and tired of seeing the disadvantaged pay for the wealthy to have more caviar, yachts, vacation homes in the Bahamas, Mercedes Benzes and diamond necklaces. And they're going to cut Medicare and Social Security for that?

North Korea? How did they slip into a conversation that compared South Korea with the United States? Because they have the most isolation of any country on Earth, the only diseases that I know of that North Korea faces are starvation and VD due to the lack of any morality by their Dear Leader, his son and now his grandson.

Most Presidents pick people who are both knowledgeable and able to present opposing viewpoints to the President so the President will have options to choose from. This is exactly what upper level management does. I can't tell you how many times an engineering manager has asked me to present some different solutions that he could choose from. I presented technical solutions while other functionals presented nontechnical solutions. Sometimes there was overlap. This is the best and most logical course.

The alternative course is one based on narcissism and appeal to a political base. We don't want this type of reasoning, do we?

The POTUS, just like any other upper level management person in a business chooses peopel they feel can do the job and surrounds themselves with competent people. If they don't, and only employ yes men their system ends up failing. trump prefers yes people rather than knowledgeable people cause nobody can tell trump that he is wrong or else they are fired. Look at the turnover this administration has had.

lol...I did the very same thing awhile back...for unexplained reason my mind was thinking South Korea but hands typed North Korea...barfo quickly pointed out my error.

My only defense was as you said, "I must have had a brain fart."

SOUTH Korea. Who knows what's happening in North Korea.
Are you saying the US has too much land to manage effectively? Maybe it should give some of it away.

by the way, when did the Senate send a bill to the House? last I read they were still working on it

    https://thehill.com/homenews/senate...-on-trillion-dollar-coronavirus-stimulus-bill

what exactly is it the House is sitting on? Wasn't it the Democratic house that got the 1st bill passed when the senate was on break?

8 Billion??? Why does an agency cost so much? If they were attached to FEMA, I could see it. However, right now, they are the guiding light.
