It wouldn’t shutter offices, however, but it would require employers to let their workers telecommute as much as possible. Violating any of Brown’s orders would be a misdemeanor crime, Willamette Week reports.
Among the businesses to be closed, according to the draft order: amusement parks, hair salons, bowling alleys, furniture stores, boutiques, gyms, "indoor and outdoor malls," spas, museums, senior centers, ski resorts, social and private clubs, tattoo parlors and theaters. (Cannabis shops will not be closed.) It authorizes the Oregon Health Authority to come up with other nonessential businesses that will need to close. It leaves restaurants, bars and cafes open, as long as they serve only takeout food. https://www.wweek.com/news/state/20...der-oregonians-to-stay-home-effective-monday/
So it doesn’t affect restaurants? Most restaurants are very short staffed right now, only 2-5 people working at a time. will be interesting to see the difference, it’s already been very weird with little to no traffic out there during busy commuting hours.
There's always outfits like Grub Hub that will deliver restaurant food to your door. I wonder if the delivery person wears gloves when he/she makes the exchange of food for money.
They can tip cash but payment is electronic. The vast majority of customers tip electronically as well. I’ll maybe get 1 cash tip per month, but haven’t gotten one for probably around 2 months now. I don’t have any gloves, but I try to stay as smart about it as I can. Wash hands at restaurants often, use sweatshirt to open doors so that my hands don’t touch handles, wash hands after leaving restaurant and then again before delivering to door, wipe car and bag down with disinfecting wipes.
Good news people!!!!!! This is much needed. This way, all of those people that work in an office can bring the virus home to their unemployed roomates or girlfriends. That way the unemployed can be broke and sick. Obviously people that go hiking and don't stay 6 feet from someone need arrested but the cops don't want to touch them so that's lucky for any evil five footers.
I think that's yet again a big mistake. It allows a lot of businesses to force their employees to work or possibly get fired.
I saw something on Twitter about a 7-11 on Beaverton-Hillsdale highway. Apparently an employee was exposed and tested for Coronavirus and called his boss. They told him that if he didn't show up for work he was fired. Fuck anyone who says shit like that right now. That should be attempted manslaughter. Edit: He had just been tested a few hours earlier and hadn't received the results yet.
well, if liquor stores aren't considered essential businesses I'm kind of fucked. Almost out of vodka and scotch
