Was looking to create a podcast. Everybody else on earth has one, so why no me? I'm a guest on about 3 or 4 every now and then, and never thought to host one myself, but why not? Especially now with all this free time. Not anything serious, just for fun. Sports/Movies/TV/Pop Culture in general. Had some people tell me they'd listen if I created one. I have some friends that are actors in LA, and between the players I know and media, I think we could come up with some good stuff to talk about. My research has led me to articles for those out there trying to make a super professional one or trying to make money off it. I just want to have some peeps call in a chat for a bit. Don't want to have to do it in a studio. Was hoping just my iPad or macbook. After doing 30 episodes of Road Trippin, content shouldn't be a problem, it's more of the technological side I need help with. How do I capture the phone conversations between me and the guest. Thanks ahead of time- THE HCP
All audio (no video)? Audacity is your best bet. https://www.audacityteam.org/ If you want video use OBS https://obsproject.com/
Great idea, but I'd keep it audio if I were you, for obvious reasons, unless, of course, you wanted to invite your wife on the show. Or perhaps the Blazer dancers?
HA! Sly I'd love to have you on. Already have 4 guests lined up. Don't want to jinx it before I even get it off the ground though. Ex-NBA player.....Ex-PGA pro...... Actor I grew up with who was in ARGO and a local musician I grew up with. Just going to talk random topics. Thats why I came to ask the experts of all things technology. Has to be a phone in podcast though. Looking for the easiest way to grab that call and add it to my podcast.
When starting we need to keep each episode about 20-30mins max. People have short attention spans. They're not going to listen to a 2 hour podcast. We should break up guests into individual episodes. We'll start off with 10 mins of my witty banter and you being confused, then 20 mins with the guest. Can't miss!
@THE HCP - I have had one for a few years, errr, I should say, had one. I say had because I have always recorded it in a studio with a producer/engineer. She would record, do post-production, and then post it to iTunes, Stitcher, etc. I am happy to give you her contact info, she could at least help with the posting part. She's a big Blazer fan too.
Thank you for this. I think that is just WAAAAAY above what I'm trying to do. I think my plan is to just use my iPad and it's built in mic. Obviously a podcast captured in a studio would be amazing, but I don't really plan on working too hard on this. Just trying to pass some time during this lockdown. Hoping that the content will be more important than the audio quality if that makes sense. Don't want it to sound like we are using soup cans and string obviously, but I think this will work. If I'm able to get lucky and get some big names on, I'm sure people will forgive the sound. Hope I didn't just jinx me being able to land some guests. We will see. Found an app called ANCHOR that allows you to do it all on your phone, iPad. Kinda bummed it won't let me use copywrited music though.
You'll want to get an external mic and plug it into the USB port. ipad or iphone that's a 10 cent mic. https://www.google.com/shopping/pro...l3uaKT76B37jmT4rvftpNpeQY-X8UQ6BoCi_8QAvD_BwE https://www.google.com/search?q=bes...9i57j69i64.12294j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
I'll sell him my 2 year old refurbished Amazon LG V20 for a good price. I've had it for 2 years...it might be 4 years old now? I wouldn't mind buying a Note 8 or something soon but I'm saving up still..once my car hits 20 full years of age I'll think about it.
