This really is a huge package. I’m not sure if I can handle it.

Yes, our government just gave corporations trillions of dollars. I couldn't be any more disgusted with both parties.

But so many were quick to condemn the Dems for wanting to negotiate the structure/terms of the bill.

Its about time our citizens can realize some rescue money from taxes we've have paid over the years. Think about how much we have helped other countries in need and some not so in need. We've also helped rebuild a few cities over the last hundred years too.

    1200 ain't jack shit.

Fuck these corporate bailouts. We've been getting fucked by airlines with baggage fees and bullshit. Fucked by hotels with resort fees.

Kick them in the fucking teeth and let them die.

Package includes funding for abstinence only "education" which has been shown to be ineffective in reducing unplanned pregnancies or sexually transmitted infections. And has no connection to COVID-19.

All these bills are causing my place of employment a lot of issues. We manufacture and do engineering work for, Military, Aerospace and (Some health stuff which has kicked up the last few weeks). Our lowest wage workers start at 17 dollars an hour. Were running into a dillema now where people are saying they wont come into work, because they can make more off of unemployment and the government (its short sighted on their part), but I was in some conversations this afternoon like what do we do because people arent showing up. We may literally shut down over it. Like a complete shutdown and not reopen. We employ only a couple hundred people but we have a real issue on our hands.
Ive got a lot of mixed feelings about all this... I hate all this industry (corporate bail outs). I am glad that American people who need something short term can at least have something thrown at them.

Also Im sure Northrop Grumman, Boeing Defense, L3, etc, etc, markup their work a TON in their contracts with the government but they penny pinch the work they contract out like crazy, by far the least lucrative work we do is for big military projects and they moan about the slightest price increases.

Teenagers must stay 6' away from each other at all times. Social distancing = sexual distancing.

You can't collect unemployment if you just don't show up to work, can you?

At least back when I was a kid we had to walk to the unemployment office in the snow, and it was uphill both ways, and we only got a nickel.

So normally there is a vetting process, but it seems like the surge in claims means they won't be vetting all of them the same.

You're like someone bitching about a scratch on the back of their car when the front got smashed by a semi?

There's going to be trillions more in debt because of this and THAT is your issue?

    Give me a break.

Well for us we got calls from the DoD, Ball Aerospace, Aerojet, Blue-origin, and Northrop Grumman saying we were required to fulfill their orders with us. So that's how they did it. It's just that many of our employees are deciding to not work now. Which I understand to some extent. Just saying the reason were being given isn't that they think it's more lucrative to be unemployed right now.
