Excellent article in the Washington Post today on what went wrong with the US Coronavirus testing: https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...-what-went-wrong-with-coronavirus-testing-us/
What went wrong is people got brainwashed in 2016 to think this guy could actually lead a country. Or that he cared about this country.
Gonna be honest.... I don't think it would have mattered who was in the oval office. I think the whole world is getting bent over right now.
just have to say, it's disgusting to me how much you defend this asshole. absolute disgusting. 3000 people have died and this MFer couldn't muster up one ounce of empathy from his soulless body and yet you continue to support him to the ends of the earth.
I think this has in a very loose sense of the word, has “proven” that our governments (throughout the world) officials arent really doing much of anything in terms of preparation for extreme circumstances. I understand theres a lot of factors and things they have to consider when making judgement calls but it seems like all throughout this they have had literally 0 plan, and what scraps of a plan they throw together changes every day. Its local all the way up too. We have Kate Brown on a Friday saying stay home but dont, take it seriously. We have daily appearances by federal employees who seem to just be grasping at straws. Italy, Spain, The UK, to name a few theyve all really failed. Apparently our house and senate had no emergency relief plans at all and had to wait until days after the emergency to figure out how to rob Americans while throwing them enough to hopefully appease them enough for November elections. I think you’re right, maybe no administration would have gotten this right. I think my confirmation bias on this is saying, yup none of these government officials are gonna do anything for us that doesn't benefit them and their friends 10 fold in the process. They aren't at all prepared for anything bad to happen. They frankly are too comfortable and haven't been doing their jobs. I hope this inspires people to find elected officials that believe they are public servants, instead of people who are served by the public.
I think having a president who did not shut down pandemic response and then spend 6 weeks saying it was a hoax would make a difference.
Legit question: if Nancy decides simply to put up his twitter account as evidence for grounds for yet another impeachment, he would get impeached by the house easily again. And if the Senate grew some guts to actually do the right thing now, would we really be any worse without him at the helm?
Meanwhile, Creepy Joe doesn't believe in travel restrictions. He's our other choice, plain and simple. https://www.redstate.com/jeffc/2020...rus-travel-ban-despite-the-advice-of-experts/
Nope. We have even an ounce of an actual compassionate person that listens as president, we get ahead of this. I already know that I'm right in this.
Trump is literally the worst thing to happen to this country. If Obama was president during this, he would have been far ahead of this because he had a) a pandemic squad, and B) he actually cares about this country and it's citizens. There is no argument.
Yes, it would have, and no, it's not. Some countries have dealt with the virus better than others, and have had better outcomes. We are about the worst. If you think it didn't hurt at all to: 1) Have the president ignore/minimize the issue for a couple of months; 2) Eliminate the pandemic response team in the NSC 3) Eliminate the CDC epidemiologist based in China 4) Ignore the 'pandemic playbook' that the Obama admin created 5) Ignore the results of the federal pandemic exercise last fall 6) Send 18 tons of "surplus" PPE to China in February 7) Refuse to use the Defense Production Act until it was too late then you may have your head in the sand. barfo
Perhaps.... https://time.com/3520341/obama-ebola-fear/ Obama on Ebola: 'We Can't Give in to Hysteria'
Scoreboard, baby. Ebola was contained. The government got on it early, and took rational steps to deal with it. You'll note that Obama wasn't quoted in that article as saying "It's going to disappear. One day it's like a miracle, it will disappear," or any bullshit like that. barfo
