as for my take....its interesting that no one is showing graphics to compare infection rate, hospitalization and total annual deaths for influenza (400-600k/yr world wide). is this a serious bug? absolutely. are we looking at a global meltdown of sanity, of course. at present, this coronavirus is looking to have polio-like numbers (taking into account pop numbers from 1950s vs now). the world didnt shut down then. nor did it shut down in the 1980s with the rise of HIV. what's changed? ...i have my own assumptions, but everyone needs to ask this of themselves. why this reaction for a virus that will not infect or kill as many people as the seasonal flu ?

    Anyone who in any way compares the fucking flu to the corona virus is either delusional, misinformed, or just completely out of their mind...there is no comparison;

    read://https_www.usatoday.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.usatoday.com%2Fstory%2Fnews%2Fpolitics%2F2020%2F03%2F29%2Ffauci-coronavirus-could-hit-millions-trump-considers-guidelines%2F2935804001%2F

Fauci predicts up to 200,000 U.S. deaths as Trump weighs adjusting coronavirus guidelines. Here is what you should know.
WASHINGTON – As President Donald Trump weighs whether to ease social distancing guidelines intended to slow the spread of coronavirus one of his top health advisers predicted Sunday as many as 200,000 Americans could die from the disease.

Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, projected millions of Americans will contract COVID-19 and between 100,000 and 200,000 people could succumb to it. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's worst-case-scenario earlier estimated at least 200,000 could die from the virus this year.

Public health officials reiterated the grim estimates Sunday as the Trump administration weighed whether to extend its 15-day guidance to slow the spread the virus. Trump has said he wants to lift recommendations that Americans work from home and avoid discretionary shopping, but also said he would consider input from health experts.

"Looking at what we're seeing now, I would say between 100,000 and 200,000" deaths, Fauci told CNN’s "State of the Union." "We're going to have millions of cases."

At midday Sunday, the U.S. had recorded about 125,000 coronavirus cases, according to Johns Hopkins University, though the true number is likely much higher. The university had tallied 2,201 deaths, with by far the highest share in New York City.

Its been a week full of low grade fever, strep throat, extreme exhaustion...sleeping roughly 18 hours a day.

Thank goodness breathing wise im not that bad off as im used to thisnfeeling of windedness and heavy chest.

Hospital out east was usless..they brought me into a ICU..swabbed me..xrayed me and told me to leave.

Antibiotics for the strep throat only.

    No follow up calls.

Geezus Al, I'm sorry to hear this. We're all pulling for you to get better brother!!! We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as well. Any idea who or how you picked up the virus? NYC and surrounding areas look like a war-zone, and I think it's only going to get worse. LA is a ticking time bomb.

But, I hope you get better too!! I hope your family is safe as well. Have they been tested also? What worries me is, my wife, son and I all have pre-existing serious conditions. If one gets it, we all get it.

How long did you have to wait for a test??

Thank you all for the encouraging words.
The test took 18 hours to get the results.
I have a couple of suspicions on how i got it but i cant confirm it.
My wife and son have done their best to stay away from me at all times. Even when i have enough strenght to leave the bedroom i wear a mask and i spray down everything i touch.

Its been a very long week and im still feelong exhausted.

Hang in there Al and Thank You for taking the time to inform your Yankee Brother's and 1 Sister, of your serious condition!

B4 U know it, we will be arguing how incredibly.... good / BAD, A-Rolaids is, as he blows fireballs over the Umps head, and 6 feet outside of Sancheeto's reach.

Sorry to hear Al. Hope your feeling better soon. Age unfortunately doesn't have a lot to do with this as its that contagious. Currently my daughter who is 30 and a Physical therapist and son in law who 31 and is an X-ray and mri tech at zwanger and pesiri has it now and had it a couple weeks ago. Im living out in N bell more since I sold my house last year with my son and daughter in law. She was an operating nurse at syosset hospital who was "miraculously trained" to handle ice and ventilator patients in one day and now works on a covid floor. Their very shorthanded cause a bunch of them got sick and a bunch of the older nurses resigned rather than take a chance on catching the virus. She has been living in the basement to not take a chance of giving my son or myself anything she might bring home. Its a tough situation and i have a lot of friends who have nurses in the family doing the same thing or moving out to a relative for the moment. Thankfully, things at least seem to be starting the downswing as the hospitalizations and consequently the ventilators have been cut in half from what they were 3 days ago. Everyone stay safe till this is over. Wash your hands constantly, don't touch your face and stay away from people as much as possible till this 15 minute test and more importantly the antibody test comes out in mass production so we can see who has had it and is immune and who needs to continue to stay away from people till more conclusive medicines are available for treatment and eventually the vaccine.
