So were the other 90% of leaders dismissing it as under control, then blaming the media for inflaming the situation? While doing jack shit

Did you think I meant that they hadn't issued the order? Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant that the airlines had already done it for them.

It's been hailing at my house for the last few minutes. I've just issued an executive order ordering it to hail. I now get credit for making it hail, right?

That's kind of an empty question because when the US passes them in deaths, people will just say that China lied about their numbers

Seriously? Sure, you can argue that maybe China or Russia might be better, but you certainly can't argue that e.g. Guyana or Indonesia have better intelligence.

Okayyyyy... that's an interesting argument, but what I was saying was that Trump was warned about the coronavirus, and the US is rich enough to take whatever actions were deemed necessary. Even if the US is the worst place on earth and our intelligence sucks, it's a fact that he was warned and failed to act.

Since we already have more deaths than them*, and our numbers are increasing and theirs are not, yes. I think we will end up with many more dead than China.

*assuming they aren't lying massively about the number of dead. Which they probably are but we'll probably still pass them. They were able to contain the virus (so far) to one region; we spread it everywhere in our country.

Unfortunately we'll never know as China won't share accurate information. Personally I think they will have far more deaths than the US. China is now relaxing their restrictions and I believe that is purely economically driven.

I could, in theory, argue that the ant colony in the field out back has better intelligence if I want too. We really don't have any idea how "good" or "bad" US Intelligence is we just pretty much get to take them at their word for it. I've always heard that Isreal's intelligence agencies are always way ahead of the curve compared to the US's but I have no real tangible proof.

I know everyone hates Trump and I'm no fan, but all I see is a split country, that can't find common ground on anything, kind of doing exactly what I thought they would do. Fighting and pointing the finger at every turn, blustering about with little to no plans. Saying it's all the fault of the guy at the top, even though half of those people have been hacking away at him for years. So far all our politicians have figured out how to do throughout all this is, shut down the economy, "stimulate it", by tossing out pseudo-socialist one-time payments to the voters, while robbing the country for hundreds of billions to their corporate sponsors, and political agenda's. They haven't even figured out how to successfully get people off of their spring break beaches. Sure you can blame Trump for his failure to do more, but even Cuomo with all of his wonderful bluster hasn't managed to actually do much of anything in a timely manner, but at least he has the excuse that he can say he was waiting for Trump to do it for him.

.....and probably the most world travelers.

At this point, I'll agree to disagree.

Doesn't matter if you disagree. Maybe you should post updates to that death chart you were so proud of a couple of days ago?

All Presidents have Failed to Act on important critical happenings.
Everyone one of us also has failed to act on something and maybe with bad consequences. But we need to THRIVE & SURVIVE through persistence & fortitude as a people and that can change the very character of all of us if we do it as team.

I'd agree but the thing is there are two teams here and if you choose to support one side then the other really doesn't want you to Thrive and Survive. It's kind of like having an inner-squad scrimmage and the two teams scrimmaging each other have forgotten their supposed to want what's best for the team overall, our teams basically don't care about the team over-all it's about their team. Has been that way for years, doesn't appear to be changing. It's nice that they picked team captains for the inner-squad matchups so us fans of the crappy team have some faces to be pissed off at though.

Its sad that a normal citizen has more leadership than the dumbest person on the planet that happens to be "president".

Theres never a good time for this pandemic to hit, but with the worst person to ever inhabit this earth as our "president", this surely is the worst time.

Funny, there were people saying this should happen here. Now people are saying its too soon for other countries.

Why people voted for the worst person on this planet to be "president" in 2016 is beyond me.

Oh I think it will become an economic decision even here eventually. When that is I'm not sure, but economics will be a huge driver in the decision.

I hope the best outcome for us all.
I just found out that my cousin who passed yesterday morning, did pass from the virus. She went to the hospital in Lebanon and they sent her home saying she had a bad case of bronchitis, she died in her sleep.
Now they are saying she it was the virus and she should have been admitted. Did someone make the wrong call? It doesn't matter now, what matters is we learn from it and try to prevent other tragedies.

    Everyone fails, that's a given.

So, do you then take responsibility and try to fix? Or blame others, praise yourself, throw temper tantrums, demand everyone be nice to you?

I agree. So together, we need to learn from this disaster and vote better than last time. Wanting an outsider is not a good enough criteria for election if that someone is not competent. Voting for someone because he is against abortions is worthless if it results in thousands of born people dead. That is the whole point - and frankly, it is hard to argue for unity when the idiot at the top will only help you if you are nice to him... the buck needs to stop somewhere, otherwise, what's the point of the idea of having someone in charge?
