For a B level movie i enjoyed it as well as it brings me back to my 70's when i was dazed and confused. It had many future stars as well.
Knifes Out!. Totally awesome murder mystery. Daniel Craig can use his southern accent like he was brought up on brisket and sweet potatoes.
Brisket is a Texas specialty. For the deep South you need to say, okra, collard greens and hominy grits. Edit: Add corn bread, mint juleps and sweet iced tea.
Anybody plan on seeing ‘The Hunt’? I’m not at all interested in it but I’m curious about what reception the movie gets and will be interested to hear what you guys say if any of you go and see it.
That is a recycled story of "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell. I doubt I will watch the movie.
Maybe. I don't like the idea of people hunting other people for fun. I also don't like that it villainizes the educated as well as liberals. But, satire is satire I guess.
The Seven Samurai. About seven samurai who help a besieged village repel attacks by bandits. The idea for the movie came up from a Japanese who wanted to emulate American Westerns. It is titled in Japanese, the Magnificent Seven. The title was changed after the American movie by the same title was released. The Japanese director of the Seven Samurai greatly admired the American Magnificent Seven. Haven't see this movie in over 40 years. I think the older I get the more I appreciate it.
We watched Dark Waters the other night. Pretty good flick. Based on a true story. Mark Ruffalo taking on a megacompany
best movie filmed in Oregon: probably One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest although if you're a big fan of comedy it could be Animal House others: Personal Best; Paint Your Wagon; Without Limits; The Shining; Drugstore Cowboy
Speaking of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest, guess what prominent member of this forum jammed with not only Kesey in Kesey's famous psychedelic school bus but also with Wayne Garcia at the same time. That's right, the three of them jamming together. Cool, huh. While Animal House was filmed at the University of Oregon, the scene of the horse dying on the roof actually came from an incident at Oregon State University where some students shot a horse dead on the roof of a dorm.
Weren't the only parts of The Shining that were filmed in Oregon the exterior shots of the lodge? I mean I guess it counts, but still.
