So move the team to Seattle! I’m in! But seriously, my husband, our dog and I are 90% starting a new life in Washington this summer. I will still audition for NYC/LA acting gigs by self-taping but the home base will be the PNW.
That's a pretty cool area as far as outdoor stuff goes. Quick drive to Vancouver BC. Are you looking at acting opportunities there?
My brother is moving his family there because the Navy has moved him to the area and Anacortes has good schools. They invited us to live with them to be a support system. Nope. We can legally sublease for 2 years after which we’d have to make a permanent decision. LOL!!! I may look for directing opportunities with the local community theater. In terms of acting, Broadway will be shutdown for awhile but I’m open to film/TV anywhere. Definitely!!!
Been to Anacortes once, to go to one of the San Juan. The town itself was pretty quaint but its kind of out there. Good to have the ferry system right there though.
I just realized that KSF is KingSpeed! I had wondered, who is the new guy with the polka-dot avatar. I should put on some glasses and look at it. Maybe connected to Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Anacortes is about 35-40 minutes south of me. I was last on the naval base about 20 years ago, accompanying my father to his base pharmacy just to take a ride. Aunt Edie had a house in Anacortes for decades, shuffling there in the summer, and in her Palm Springs house in the winter, with her last husbands. http://www.sportstwo.com/posts/4941843/ Speed, the local tourist spot is the town of LaConner. It has little shops of minerals and souvenir artifacts, nothing compared to a big city, but a place to pass some time on a day of leisure. I was there a few times in the 80s. Find the outdoor tavern on a sunny day. Find the schedule for when the marching brass band is coming between the tables. Get going on your pitcher of beer before they perform. Shade your eyes from the Sun reflecting off of the golden trumpets and trombones. LaConner can be a utopian Saturday if you time it right. But, maybe it's all died like everything else since the liberal 70s-80s, so check first whether there are still brass band hours. P.S. Marijuana is legal here, unlike in New York.
