50th anniversary of Gay Pride 51st anniversary of Stonewall Riots My 8th wedding anniversary I swear we had no idea we were getting married on such a momentous day Just realized it this morning
Happy anniversary Eric! In the fall mine will be our 31st! It's also the anniversary of the great earthquake that devastated Taiwan long ago....wiped out an entire village and I think killed around 5000 people but it kept me from forgetting my anniversary year after year!
Ha, I actually had a friend that had 2 brothers that were named after the city they were born in. His dad was Tommy McVie of Portland Buckaroo fame and then went on to coach in the NHL. The one I know is Tommy jr. but his younger brothers were Denver and Dallas as that's where sr. was coaching when the boys were born. Denver and Dallas are decent names but can you imagine if he was coaching in Chicago or Philadelphia? Those would be some strange names.
November will be my 41st. That's the 41st year since the Iranian takeover of our embassy. That makes me older than grandpa Simpson.
I remember Tommy. Damn, in all these years I had forgotten. They had some awesome teams in those years. They usually won half the Western Hockey League championships, which was one notch below Major League Hockey. One year when they won their Lester Patrick Cup and a Canadian team won the Stanley cup, the two played three games in Portland at the Memorial Coliseum. Portland beat them two out of three. We were awesome.
Reminds me of a Jack Benny routine. JB wanted to hire Rochester's brother to help prepare for a large party. JB: What's your brother's name? R: September. JB: September? That's an unusual name, why did your parents name him that? R: You know how they named me Rochester because I was born in Rochester? Well, he was born in September. JB: I see. R: Of course, that's just his middle name. JB: Why? R: Because he was born in the middle of September.
