Kevin is old...I understand why he'd want to stop traveling given the circumstances....he probably sees the writing on the wall and a guy like him can make a good living doing voice over work without attending large crowded venues....or it could be part of cost cutting was to let him retire and hire a cheaper replacement down the road
More than likely, since yesterday was the day that contracts typically end (right?), it's probably that his contract was up as of this morning, and they both agreed to not renew it. Maybe he only signed a 3-4 year contract (how many years has it been?), and wanted to decide at the end of it if he wanted to continue or not. Maybe he's retiring, maybe he wants to move back to Seattle, or maybe he's part of a group that is trying to bring back the Sonics to Seattle.
for old guys...outdoor sports are safer today than indoor sports...he'll go home to football and baseball in Seattle or retire
Just a guess, maybe he's tired of all the time on the road as he's no spring chicken anymore. I think he was also commuting from Seattle too. I wish him well.
I don't believe much of the team media is traveling with the team. It sounds like most games will be simulcast back from the team's hometowns in their own studios.
The website has featured Brooke, Jordan Kent and Lamar Hurd on summer content with a sprinkling of .....I think they will be around...I'm wondering if Casey will make the cut with the new cutbacks (fixed that pesky B! it's just in the perfect spot for a finger keyboard slip from H....yeah...that's my excuse! Good catch guys...who needs spellcheck!)
Will he be giving us a new rendition of "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" in honor of Calabro's departure?
Seems to me that there is a good opportunity to automate this job. Should be something AI can handle. barfo
