yeah...I just got rid of most of that conversation....first basketball thread I've engaged in in a long time....he's done that in the past. Generally if someone bores you you don't engage them for 3 pages in a thread...I'm going to move on like he wasn't there and I've erased him as well....no big loss..just a snarky kid...this is the kind of shit that has gutted the forum of so many great posters...if it keeps up around here I'll just disappear for another long stretch...enjoyed the last hiatus

Definitely, but G-League guys across the league have started to breakout more and more. I'd like us to have one of those guys and maybe this guy is it. But coming in and running PG is definitely the hardest position to quickly get accustomed to so my optimism is for future years.

I think it's a great chance to get a look at him but this is the playoffs....don't think a rookie without knowing our plays will step in to the pg spot and thrive ….if he does get burn I think we'll have a large lead or be getting beaten badly at this point

Biggie attempted a three at end of controversial Utah game. Did it not count?

He showed that skill a bit two years in a row in summer league if I remember back clearly and in the practice facility....in regular season games he wasn't getting that shot unless the clock expired.

The biggest question is what do we do with Simons in these 8 games ? I know he has a high ceiling but he was so bad in the regular season. I dont feel good when he's on the court. These 8 games are crucial

I have no problem the team bringing him in, but I don't expect to see much of him on the floor or expect much production out of him. This forum loves to dog on good players like McCollum and elevate unknowns to all star status before they hardly play. Simons was projected to be an all star and then hall of fame already. What he has shown this year is he still has lots of work to do.

I hear you, but I'm a big Simon-backer. He just shouldn't be playing PG, imho.

I think the Blazers will be outscored when CJ or Simons are playing PG - that's my concern.

Would love to see your minutes distro for the starters and bench players.

We also have a better bench now than when McCollum was running the point. I just don't see in such few games that an unproven g league player is going to have that much of an impact or if he really gets much burn. I don't see him as a differtnece maker at this stage of the season. I guess time will tell.

Your position makes sense, I just don't agree. I'm not actually trying to persuade anyone, just saying my opinion.

McCollum has a different standard that he's held to than a G-League guy

Of course he is and he pretty much has proven he has met and in some cases surpased his standards where as Adams is nowhere close to proving he can come close to that standard. We have very few games to make it into the playoffs. Shouldn't we be playing a short rotation with our top players playing the bulk of the minutes?

This thread is all over the map, so my scattered responses:

Simons isn't the flashy dribbler that Lilliard and McCollum are, but the #24 pick is much better than I had hoped after 1 1/2 seasons.

Hezonja thinks like a playmaker, but unlike Batum, allows the defender to botch every play he invents on the fly, due to slow telegraphed execution.

Undrafted Jaylen Adams will just be a practice player. He needed a warmup year (20 games) in the G-League before having a good year (only 32 games) there.
