and those two people weren't in the middle of the road, they were on side of the road, outside the line, behind a van, so mildly flog the tweeter who said they were in the "middle of the road"

the freeway was closed and that car shouldn't have been there and he definitely should not have been going that fucking fast, and especially while going onto the side median at 60MPH where people were standing

I don't care whether you agree with the protests or strongly disagree. But to essentially condone something like that happening to young women is pretty venomous.

"A 27-year-old man drove a white Jaguar onto a closed freeway in Seattle early Saturday and barreled through a panicked crowd of protesters, critically injuring two women, officials said.

Dawit Kelete of Seattle drove the car around vehicles that were blocking Interstate 5 and sped into the crowd at about 1:40 a.m., according to a police report released by the Washington State Patrol. Video taken at the scene by protesters showed people shouting “Car! Car!” before fleeing the roadway.

Summer Taylor, 24, of Seattle and Diaz Love, 32, of Bellingham were in critical condition with multiple injuries, according to Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg.

Love was filming the protest in a nearly two-hour-long Facebook livestream captioned “Black Femme March takes I-5” when the video ended abruptly; with about 15 seconds left, shouts of “Car!” can be heard as the camera starts to shake before screeching tires and the sound of impact are heard.

Video on social media showed the car striking two people.

The driver, who was alone in the Jaguar, fled the scene after hitting the protesters, Trooper Chase Van Cleave told The Associated Press. One of the protesters got in a car and chased the driver for about a mile. He was able to stop him by pulling his car in front of the Jaguar, Van Cleave said."

yeah, a driver gets on a closed freeway and barrels at high speed into a crowd people, critically injuring two women, then cowardly flees the scene. He'll probably be awarded the Medal of Freedom by trump

 

Who closed the freeway? Blocking the road with your van isn't closing the freeway

I'm all for the protests, you guys know this. But closed or not, you take risks walking on a damn freeway like that. That is horrible what happened, and hope that person gets punished, but people should NOT be on the freeway like that.

 

"I was driving through on the freeway on-ramp. There was a van parked in the middle of the road and I swerved to avoid it. There were people all over the road walking and I hit some on accident. I drove away because I was scared for my life as they seemed like they were going to attack me, as has been done on so many occasions".

The driver may have been drunk or high on drugs though. Who knows.
