    That guy went through hell. In and out of comas, had his leg amputated, needed double lung transplant. In a way, it’s a relief that he died considering the pain he must have felt. Of course, I wish he had survived and lived a long life. RIP Nick.

    Very sad. I haven't seen any mention of underlying conditions that may have exacerbated his condition, has anyone else seen anything? Sincerely curious, please don't read anything into the question...

    I read most of the lengthy article and I saw nothing about any underlying conditions. I did see where they found significant physical holes in his lungs and they were planning a lung transplant. He died on a ventilator or maybe they took him off it when he was hopeless.
