It almost inevitably did. But using the protests as a way to justify political rallies is just dumb as hell. The people who protested did so with full knowledge of Covid and felt that expressing their anger for their cause was worth the risks. But going out to an enclosed arena with 3000 others all without masks just to listen to this idiot spew racist propaganda for 2 hrs? Ya not happening.

These protests definitely caused more covid.

The rallies definitely caused more covid.

COVID doesn't give a fuck about your politics. To think its still not out there is fucking retarded.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Wash your hands and sanitize often. Maintain common sense.

    Its not rocket science.

Pathologist found blood clots in 'almost every organ' during autopsies on Covid-19 patients

Autopsies on people who died of the coronavirus are helping doctors understand how the disease affects the body -- and one of the most remarkable findings concerned blood clotting, a pathologist says.

Dr. Amy Rapkiewicz, the chairman of the department of pathology at NYU Langone Medical Center, spoke to Erin Burnett on OutFront Thursday night.

Some Covid-19 patients are known to develop blood clotting issues, but the degree and the extent to which that occurs was described as "dramatic" by Rapkiewicz.

In the early stages of the pandemic, bedside clinicians noticed a lot of blood clotting "in lines and various large vessels," she said.

"What we saw at autopsy was sort of an extension of that," she said. "The clotting was not only in the large vessels but also in the smaller vessels.

"And this was dramatic, because though we might have expected it in the lungs, we found it in almost every organ that we looked at in our autopsy study," she said. Rapkiewicz's study outlining her findings was published at the end of June in The Lancet journal EClinicalMedicine.

The autopsies also showed something unusual about megakaryocytes, or large bone marrow cells. They usually don't circulate outside the bones and lungs, Rapkiewicz said.

"We found them in the heart and the kidneys and the liver and other organs," she said. "Notably in the heart, megakaryocytes produce something called platelets that are intimately involved in blood clotting."

Researchers hope to discover how these cells influence small vessel clotting in Covid-19, she said.

Pathologists have been surprised by something they didn't find.

During early stages of the pandemic, doctors thought the virus would provoke inflammation in the heart with myocarditis, she said.

But autopsies have found a very low incidents of myocarditis, Rapkiewicz said.

She said that one of the "opportunities -- if there is one to count in the virus" is that pathologists have had a chance to examine the organs of many Covid-19 victims and investigate the disease processes that take place. She said that opportunity really wasn't available with H1N1 or the original SARS outbreak.

We've had 330 deaths, which is to many for sure. But if we subtract out the deaths in senior centers from the covid then its about 170 or so and most had underlying conditions. Plus,we have learned more about the disease. 2018 death total looks to be near average for each year.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
As cases rise, Trump hits historic low on handling coronavirus

President Donald Trump's numbers on coronavirus are getting worse. The latest ABC News/Ipsos poll out Friday shows that just 33% approve of his handling of the pandemic, while 67% disapprove.

Of the about 350 polls on the subject, this is the highest percentage of Americans who disapprove of Trump's handling of the coronavirus outbreak.

If you were to look at the average of polls, it's pretty clear that as coronavirus cases surge in the US, the public is becoming more and more disenchanted with how Trump and his administration are handling the issue.

In the average, Trump's disapproval rating stands at 57%. That's the highest it's been this entire pandemic. Keep in mind that this average takes into account polls from last month, when the situation in America wasn't as bad as it is today. Other polls could begin to look more like the Ipsos poll.

Meanwhile, Trump's approval rating is just south of 40% in the average. That's the worst it's been during the entire pandemic.

Back in late March, Trump had a positive net approval (approval-disapproval) rating when it came to handling coronavirus. Since then, it's all been downhill with no signs of stopping.

This mirrors a drop in Trump's overall approval rating, which stands at 40%.
That's the worst it's been since the government shut down in early 2019. Trump's overall approval rating and his handling of the coronavirus are clearly linked.

When you dig into the numbers a little bit deeper, you see Trump's coronavirus standing is tumbling with pretty much all groups.

His approval rating with Democrats is now slightly under 10% in an average of polls over the last two weeks. It was above 20%, when the virus became the major news story in the latter half of March.

Among independents, it's the same story. His approval is down double-digits since March.

But perhaps most interestingly, even Trump's supposedly rock solid base is leaving him on the issue.
His approval rating among Republicans in an average of polls over the last few weeks is now just under 80% -- his worst yet on the coronavirus. That's a far cry from what we're used to seeing in terms of Republicans' backing of Trump.

The downward shift in Trump's numbers could not come at a worse time for him. As the virus rages, there's been a trend upward in the percentage of Americans who are worried about the pandemic.

Even when the virus seemed to be more under control early in June, 20% said it was among the nation's most important problems. That's very rare for a non-economic issue, and the percentage is likely to rise given the other data.

As I noted on Thursday, the President's hopes of winning reelection are almost certainly pinned to how they view his coronavirus response. No matter how much Trump tries to change the subject, coronavirus is the issue of our time.

The latest data is unanimous in showing that on the key issue for who wins in November, the President's numbers are going in the wrong direction.

Oh great, yet another risk factor for me.
As long as you're delivering good news why don't you tell me how much money I lost in the stock market before I pulled out, Mr. Sunshine.
