Melo and CJ at the bottom of that list...SMH. And on many nights, they were taking the 2nd and 3rd most shots. Ugh.

why worry about what you cant control? vote your ideals, make your surroundings the best you can, be safe and cautious, stand up for what you believe is right and the rest is uncontrollable and a waste of emotions.

Basketball is a nice breath of fresh air i na rather stagnant time for me. Said that to a friends just the other day.
Baseball was Americas reprieve during the wars. basketball can be that during a pandemic.

But you might be right. Maybe Stotts is thinking, "Damn, we got to get this kid going". "We need something out of him".

Well Ant finally had a good game. I feel like Ant plays better when he’s running the show, dominating the offense, creating, making things happen. He hasn’t functioned well playing second fiddle to Dame or CJ. I’ve seen Ant be a good passer and facilitator. He’s got it in him when his shot is falling and his confidence is high.

    Go Ant!

Now: what team wants to offer us something for him so they can give him the role that will allow him to flourish? Is Dale Davis available?

Exactly. It would be stupid to dump him for a vet who is passed his prime. Drazen was another example.

News flash, young players struggle in general, but they especially struggle with their shooting when they don't get touches, and when they come off the bench. They just aren't used to it. Only experience will help, but they can't get experience when they don't deserve it so you just have to wait until they do..... or you lose out on the investment you already put into them.

It will only get worse when they start drafting kids again right out of HS. I think the teams understand this and can prepare for it. It's that small group of fans who can't seem to grasp it.

I was joking about Dale Davis - I actually think trading Ant is a good idea - we need a talent upgrade RIGHT NOW to avoid wasting Dame's few remaining peak years and Ant may be the one thing close to an expendable asset we have. I see him like Zach Lavine in Minny, and they got Jimmy Butler out of him. Something like that would be great.

(Dale Davis SHOULD've been good. But of course, what we really should've done is fired Dunleavy, let Brian Grant go for nothing (rather than Shawn Kemp) and minutes for Jermaine would've opened up. )

I think Dale was past his prime when we got him at 31. He was decent but not better than JO after one year.
Walter Davis was 36 when we got him for Petro. Worthless move by Petrie

But yes Jimmy Butler is a different story altogether.

would you consider a Ant for Justin Jackson trade?
I like Jackson on the wing and he's got a chance at being a decent 3&D.

Probably not. Simons’ value is still higher than that. He’s just not ready right now.

Not trying to argue, but just curious is Ant's value high throughout the league? Just curious if as fans we are valuing him higher than he really is?

Young players that flash an ability to create their own shot will always be valued more than guys like Jackson who are more complimentary pieces. At least in my opinion.

Simons was a 24th pick two years ago. He's done nothing to increase his value over a 24th pick, probably gone the other direction. But he's a cheap bench player and Portland has a need for those, even if he's 7-9 in the rotation

Hard pass. Would rather have a player with a small chance at being special instead of another guaranteed mediocre role player.

Don't worry. He will not improve much, but olshey will give him a 70 million dollar contract when his rookie deal expires.
