Both Dame and CJ had broken foot issues in College. This is just a stress issue. Most normal people simply live through it. But he is a professional athlete that is 7 foot tall and 250 lbs. Gotta remember how young he is.

    bullshit

try and find where I have "written him off because of his injuries"

all I'm arguing is that he's just a role player at this point. Harkless level. And that he should be given the role of starting PF & PFOTF because he earns it (which he hasn't) on the floor, not by default because Olshey clears the roster of any significant competition for the starting PF minutes

They are neither right nor wrong because they're simply exclamations - the equivalent of saying "JESUS CHRIST!" Think of them as cries for help or the whining of a dog with a thorn in its foot.

Exactly as there just isn't enough of a sample size to declare him injury prone. Maybe he will be, but that won't be determined for another couple years

According to Quick, he's been having issues since the Clippers game.

I had a teammate in HS who had a stress fracture in his foot. He came back early in the season and reinjured it -- stress fractures always were problematic because you thought you could play on them and then reinjured yourself. Anyway, he had surgery and was back by the end of the season.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas was a big who only played in 29 games in 3 years because of foot injuries. IIRC, stress fractures were part of the problem. He did come back and have 5 straight years of very durable BB

Weynen is the new Collins now. Let’s work on his development

Trade Collins for a bag of chips

I think Zach is a keeper...injuries he's just gone through are going to make him an affordable contract next time around...he'll get Ed Davis money instead of Hassan Whiteside money

Doesn't the team need to figure that out by the end of his rookie deal? I don't understand why teams give extensions to players they consider a question mark.

I wouldn't go that high for an extension. Make him prove it next season then pay him. If he proves he is worth more then great.

I dont want another Meyers Leonard contract for the next 5 years on potential we've never seen.

Nor do I want a huge portion of the cap on multiple centers when there are plenty of good vet minimum ones. Center is the deepest position in the NBA.

Which is what his actual value is. Maybe it's even more than his value but lets say 20M/3 years is fair.

Hassan got 100M in his last contract, not sure why you are even bringing that up. OK Olshey is a fool, but that much?

Not really as it comes down to what his next contract will be. If it's a team friendly contract you jump on it.

I have the opposite story. My son played soccer with a kid who played with a stress fracture and never missed a game. He also played basketball and never missed a game and soccer and basketball are probably the hardest on feet and ankles. Just shows all injuries aren't necessarily the same and each individual heals differently.
