Looks like Philly, Boston and Tampa all going to advance. Islanders will be up against it next roumd. Boston beating Carolina without Rask or Pastrnak. Impressive.

Looking like Isles/Flyers & Bruins/Lightning in the East. Good series.

BTW - the past 2+ weeks have been really good to us.

    1. We lose to the Canes in the qualifiers. Considering the way we played we would have had no shot to beat the top teams in the East, so maximize our draft pick, and give us a shot at # 1.
    2. The Leafs lose in the qualifying round, meaning the Canes get their pick unless the Leafs win the lottery.
    3. We defy odds and win the draft lottery.
    4. The Canes look like they will lose in round 1, which maximizes our second 1st round pick. Maybe in the 22 range pending how the remainder of the playoffs play out.

So what started off as bad, has turned good IMO. Things going our way recently.

It would be wise for Gorton to keep picking up a second, first round pick year after year to help with the cap. This year he should be looking at drafting playoff types of players that bring elements too many of our players lack.

More Canadien draftees. The kid Zary looks like a winning type, if they go for a forward.

Canes eliminated, sets up our second 1st round pick in a good spot. I am still liking TB to win the East.

I'm interested to see what the Canes do to improve. A lot of good young players, do they maybe look for an upgrade in goal I wonder.

If the Flyers win you have Isles/Flyers & Bruins/Lightning in the East. The West is Blues or Canucks/Knights & Stars/Avs.

I like Isles and Lightning in the East. I love Knights and Avs in the West. Right now I am liking Lightning and Avs in the SCF.

Also our pick is now locked in somewhere between 20-24 depending on how the remainder of the playoffs go.

I think you are seriously underestimating Boston. They basically beat Carolina without Pastrnak for almost the entire series. I was surprised Philly didn't bitch slap Montreal. However, they pose a huge problem for the Islanders. Their depth at center is so much greater than the Craps that the Islanders centerman will not be nearly as effective in this series.

I am not underestimating Boston. I like them a lot, and think they are the second best team in the East, I just happen to think they are playing the best team in the East. I'd rank them TB, Bos, NYI, Philly (I don't love Philly). So give me TB and NYI in the ECF. TB wins and goes to the SCF. But if Bos was playing the NYI or Philly I would take Bos no doubt. Shame the 2 best teams are playing in round 2.

BTW - Hayes or Kreider? Given our strength on the wings and the need for a # 2 C, I'd say give me Hayes. Maybe we made the wrong choice there all things being equal.

Tampa has shown nothing at any point this season that they are better than Boston. Hayes was vastly overpaid. I would take Kreider. I've watched Hayes this series. He plays on the perimeter all the time. That won't work vs. teams that clog the middle.

I hear you, I think Boston is a very good team. Certainly can win the series, I just like TB better. I think that team is on a mission, and will make the SCF this year. I wish we could have seen Bos-TB in the ECF. That's where this series belongs.

Hayes - Kreider is pretty close. Given we now have Lafreniere (and Panarin), I think Hayes would be the better fit here, but no one could have foreseen us getting the # 1 pick stud LW.

Hayes got $7 mil the Rangers couldn't afford so it's kind of a moot point but I like CK better so I'm happy with the Rangers keeping him over Hayes.

I give Boston the edge on toughness and experience but Tampa has more talent. Either way should be a great series. On a side note, think Milbury got dumped off NHL show for a ridiculously tame remark about no women in the bubble to distract players. He wasn't on the panel when they came back from break.

Hayes got 7 mill, and Kreider got 6.5 mill, so they could afford Hayes instead of Kreider. Plus potentially the Rangers could have re-signed Hayes for around the same as Kreider if they did so before he became a UFA. My take is I prefer Hayes simply due to the fact that he is a C, which is a position of need for us.

If my choice was Hayes as the # 2 C flanked by Panarin and Kakko OR Kreider playing RW or LW on the 3rd line, positionally I think we would have been better off with Hayes. Doesn't matter much at this point, but I do think it is something to think about given how we have added three potential stud wingers the past two off-seasons - Panarin, Kakko, Lafreniere, and need a # 2 C.

I agree though, it certainly isn't a slam dunk either way, Kreider or Hayes.

Milbury shouldn't gotten fired. He should have gotten a raise for telling the truth. When players are worried about banging ho's hanging around they don't play as well. Common sense. This country is full of nothing but pussies now. I don't like Milbury, but this candy ass country is an embarrassment now.

Pretty soon they will pass a law that single men have to fuck fat or ugly women to make those women feel better about themselves. That's after the pass a law that when seeing a black person we must apologize for what happened years ago. What happened to Milbury is what happens when you let liberal pussies run things. Much like our democrat run cities which have turned into shithole, crime zones where they are shooting people left and right and don't care.

Not hard to get triggered when the country you have lived in has turned into a bunch of liberal pussies. It's absurd. You can't take a shit without somebody complaining about it.

I don't like Milbury much either but he's there to give his opinion, just have some off camera Karen come on after break to give Mike a dressing down. "Not even any women here to disrupt your concentration" gets a guy fired from a network whose top brass and talent raped and molested for decades.

Definitely not a fireable comment. I think his apology was on point though. He was trying to be irreverent....he's not delivering the news, he's trying to be entertaining.
