I just said the same thing in another thread... If they traded him they'd have to think that the bubble was an illusion, or that they'd lose Levert for nothing when he sees his minutes shrink next year.
I am in this boat as well, this team as constructed and coached is becoming more and more unwatchable for me, I watched less this yr that ever before and if they do very little then I will likely watch less next yr
I am convinced if Terry was coaching the Lakers they would be just as good, if not better. Vogel isn't a magician. Terry is working with what Oshley gave him. Sure mistakes are made during the game and that's on Terry and the players, but this roster and all the garbage picks and signings, we don't need to rehash them, is all on Neil. Fuck he picked Zach, Anfernee, and Swanigan. Batting 0 for the last three. Only Zach plays like an NBA player, but now with perpetual injuries, its ever more apparent that he will not really help any team significantly.
because EVERY homer here thinks CJ is an AllStar and just doesn’t fit with Dame. Brooklyn has too much redundancy once Irving and KD are back - so filling holes with CJ and a Collins makes some sense
How about "Get healthy"? Do you really think that this team, with a healthy Ariza, Hood, and Collins, would have flamed out? We're missing 2/3 of our starting front line for crying out loud. Let's see what that genius Frank Vogel would have done with that. Gimmee a break.
So when were healthy next year with a great roster and still cant win more than 1 win against a contender, what will it be then?
This is such a different team with Rodney Hood and Trevor Ariza at the SF position...Zach healthy is an upgrade over what we're trotting out now...Hassan doesn't have to play with Nurk ever...when you say healthy, Ariza and Hood alone would make us way better than we can be this time around in my view...that's assuming that we have the same roster next season
I guarantee you a lot of our same issues that people attribute to "personnel" will still exist no matter there personnel. Obviously they improve the team but people falsely attribute many issues to personnel that aren't personnel-based.
I wouldn’t try to trade CJ yet until most of the team is back healthy. We have Ariza’s partial guarantee, Simons, Collins, a MLE, and all of our picks—look for a 3-D wing and a serviceable backup big and backup PG. If you can get Whiteside to join a contender like Boston or Dallas or a team that is over the cap, you could probably squeeze out some assets out of that too. I’ve heard that Wendell is demanding to play pf now, could a Whiteside/Ariza/Simons/2022 lotto protected pick get you Porter Jr and one of Wendell or Lauri? I think the decision to trade CJ won’t be until next offseason, or trade deadline at the earliest. We’re seeing that Gary can eventually become a really good 3-D starting SG, but he isn’t that right now. We need another full year of playing experience for Gary before pulling the trigger on a CJ trade. We won’t have a secondary playmaker at the wing position that can create their own shot, so we can’t just trade CJ for anyone. Stars with PO for next year are Paul, James, Leonard, George, Holiday. Unless the Clippers don’t win this year and something catastrophic happens in the next 12 months, I don’t see any of those guys except Holiday and Paul being available in a CJ-packaged deal. Stars with PO in 2022 include Harden, Durant, Westbrook, Beal, Butler. Maybe Beal becomes available. Too far out to tell, but I’m on the Don’t Trade CJ bandwagon for at least a year. I wouldn’t mind bringing back Stotts for a year, but I’m not against looking for a replacement either. We at least need an defensive coordinator. I remember D’antoni quitting in Phoenix because he wouldn’t bring in Thibbideau as his defensive coordinator. Maybe at least lay out the ultimatum this summer?
I don't agree...leave it at that. I understand that you believe that...don't agree that other points of view are invalidated or false because you don't like the system or coach or GM. That's just your main talking point. You're welcome to it but respect it's not representing everyone
Drawing up simple cross-screens, backscreens, or better sets in general arent on the coach? The scheme he runs and how much he varies them arent on him either?
Funny the array of opinion. Bones Jones just responded to my trade idea with Brooklyn as being “gross.” Just supports my “homer” theory
