https://www.blazersedge.com/2020/9/...cap-khris-middleton-cj-mccollum-celtics-bucks Trade Summary Boston Gives Up: Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward Gets: CJ McCollum, Trevor Ariza Milwaukee Gives Up: Khris Middleton, Ersan Ilyasova (for cap balancing purposes) Gets: Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward, Anfernee Simons or Nassir Little, Portland’s 16th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Portland’s 2022 first-round pick Portland Gives Up: CJ McCollum, Trevor Ariza, Anfernee Simons or Nassir Little, 2020 first-round pick, 2022 first-round pick Gets: Khris Middleton, Ersan Ilyasova Starters: Damian Lillard, Gary Trent Jr, Khris Middleton, Zach Collins, Jusuf Nurkic Reserves: Rodney Hood, Ersan Ilyasova, Wenyen Gabriel, Mario Hezonja, Anfernee Simons or Nassir Little Not my idea, but it seems pretty good... *Edit* Actually, this probably should have been put in the Trade Ideas thread. Can a mod help with that?
I dont see why Milwaukee wants Smart and Hayward. Also it doesn't really make sense for Boston. If PDX wanted to move on from CJ and MIL wanted to try a different sidekick to get Giannis to stay I could see that swap making sense... agree Portland has to put in extra picks or a bit more value to complete it.
This is why Blazers Uprise has a full scale, BlazersEdge style website launching soon. Shoutout to @HAAK72 for building it.
Gives Up: CJ McCollum, Trevor Ariza, Anfernee Simons or Nassir Little, 2020 first-round pick, 2022 first-round pick Gets: Khris Middleton, Ersan Ilyasova ...uh....no. CJ, Ariza, Ant, Little AND two 1st round pick.....basically for Middleton? Who comes up with this stuff?
Don't see why Boston wants CJ, when they have kemba, brown and Tatum. CJ is better than smart, but the fit doesn't make sense at all. It makes more sense for Milwaukie to take Boston out, they could really use someone like CJ next to Giannis.
Because despite their flaws CJ and Ariza playing are worth more than Hayward sitting behind the bench in a suit.
nonsense trade idea made more nonsensical by complexity. Doesn't really help any of the 3 teams, and why the hell would the Blazers give up two 1sts? a simple CJ for Middleton swap makes more sense. Both teams might get a better fit. Middleton is better than CJ so you'd think the Blazers would have to add more. But, Middleton is owed even more money than CJ over the next 4 years, so maybe Portland shouldn't add much I think Dame/Middleton would be a little better than Dame/CJ as options 1 and 2, and the defense would improve. But the upgrade really isn't anything that would alter the trajectory of the Blazers and Portland would still have limited flexibility because of the Middleton contract. Not a lot better than a lateral move....better fit, less wiggle room...why do it?
