fairly clear in Salem till about 3pm. It's 7pm now and the smoke is thick like fog even though it's windy. We have the house closed up and the AC on
I'm hunkered down in my room and got charged electronics just in case. The view outside my window is fucking apocalyptic. And since we have seen what 2020 has been like, I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
The combination of 100 degree days with unbreathable air... it was awful. And I had to work outside over half of those days.
Lucia wouldn't come inside last night. Can't blame her, cooler outside than in. If I could sleep comfortably in garden I would. She came home during the night. Big fire began when selfish assholes threw gender reveal party during pandemic and set off smoke bombs. I'm sure they had fun. Stay safe, people and cats. Fuck, even dogs.
PGE preemptively cuts electricity near Mount Hood due to fire risk; nearly 100K in Portland metro lose power amid high wind
