If LMA could shift to all of the backup C minutes and only play a few as a starter at the 4 along Nurk maybe it could work.

I have a lot of doubts LMA would be worth anything as an addition. But we've also had such shit at PF last season and C in the playoffs the season prior I feel like a declining LMA maybe would be better. I thought Melo would be a disaster and it worked fine so who knows maybe LMA works well next year.

Mostly with all the LMA/Dame etc comments and current direction of PDX/SAS its a very logical move to happen.

If this worked we would win the championship next season. We could split our MLE on a back up guard who could run the offense and a 4/5 that could defend the post and perimeter. Just because I really like the fit but it could be whoever you wanted... lets say Michael Carter Williams and Nerlens Noel.

Dame, Gary, Ariza, Giannis, Nurk, MCW, Hood, Noel, Nas, Wenyen

I do think more likely we would have to do that same trade but include Nurk and they would send back Brook Lopez. I think they would view Nurk as being more valuable than Lopez but who knows. That is a ton of picks, that is CJ and Zach and potentially more potential if they wanted to swap Nurk and BroLo. Maybe they would do it. Regardless of if they wanted Nurk or not, we would win the whole thing next season (whenever that might be) and that championship along with the kind of guy Dame is would likely entice Giannis to stay. We could be looking at a four or five year run with multiple titles. Wow, wouldn't that be so amazing. I do think any incarnation of this is a pipe dream but it's a nice one.

Would he? If I m the Bucks and I trade Giannis I don't want back CJ and his terrible contract. I want Zach, I want Ant and I also want Nurkic for Brook. I also want a million picks which would be added here. tradenba-snap-1599573046445.png

Can a team trade for Ariza and then not pick up his option? When is the deadline to decide whether or not we keep Ariza for next year, and does that deadline pass before we can trade him?

As long as his 20-21 salary is mostly non-guaranteed, his trade value for salary matching purposes is only the very small guaranteed portion.

No, I believe they changed this in the last CBA so his contract becomes fully guaranteed next year if he's traded. But now they have to define revises CBA rules for draft, free agency, cap, luxury tax, and trades, so anything could potentially change.

I refuse to even fantasize about giannis. 0.0 chance. He wants a major market. I refuse.

Common sense. Maybe the best on the planet...I suspect everyone on team giannis wants a major market. Not a huge paradigm shift I am proposing.

ok then, in 2021-22 the Blazers sign Giannis to a super-max deal, making him equal to Dame

that would mean in 2021-22 the Blazers would have 130 million in salary locked into Dame/CJ/Giannis/Lopez. And the tax line may be close to that. In 2023-24, Portland would have 137 million in salaries going to Dame/CJ/Giannis

Jody Allen would be paying 120 million in tax every year, maybe more. Portland better be winning championships, at least two every year

Well, that's not going to happen, but you do have to spend money to win. The Warriors already have three max contracts (Steph, Klay & Wiggins) that account for $108 M, and I believer Steph will be ready for a new extension after next season. I'd put the Warriors at the top of contenders to trade for Giannis this offseason. Any idea what their investment would be in a core of Klay, Steph and Giannis would be after Curry and Giannis get new deals?

    from that article:

    * "Two-way wings with his combination of size and versatility are the most valuable players in the league. Brogdon might not have been able to save the Bucks from falling into a 3-1 hole against the Heat. But he sure would help. The Bucks desperately need players who can create their own shot, initiate the offense, space the floor, and defend."

Olshey needs to get that memo

otherwise, Jody Allen needs to read it and find a GM who will get it and quit filling the roster with one-way perimeter players

Olshey is treating CJ like his first love, he won't trade him and even if he wanted Dame wouldn't be okay with that because Friendship meants more to him than a possible Championship
