We do need a legitimate backup PG behind Dame, but Bledsoe's contract is a little high for being that. He can't shoot from deep so he wouldn't finish many games for us. We need to go cheap (either young or old) for that spot IMO.

I really think Simmons is a better option. Put a tall wing next to Dame who can handle the ball. Biggest issue is he can't shoot.

I wish, I just don't see them moving Simmons this offseason, barring a huge return. It makes way more sense for them as a team to shift any and all of the pieces around him and Embiid before moving on from either of them. First determine how to make it work with them 2, and if that fails, move one.

If I'm OKC there's no way I'm taking Wall. That dude is horribly injury prone and massively overpaid.

I don't see why people are suggesting OKC would trade Paul for anything less than a clear upgrade. It feels to me like they love him there and gave him most of the credit for their surprising performance this season.

I think it's just to gain more assets. They got a ton moving george and westbrook, might as well keep that going. I dont think he was ever long for their team, but they wanted to do, I imagine, exactly what they did, rehabilitate his value.
Obviously, a move for wall makes no sense. But I think they move him for minor assets this offseazon.

That certainly fits Presti's M.O. over the last 18 months years since PG13 asked for a trade:

I guess the question is: how many 1st round draft picks is enough? But I guess they have great options for moving up in drafts

I really like this trade. Ariza, Simons, little, 2020 1st round pick, and 2021 1st round pick for Aaron Gordon. I really like Gordon fit on our team. He’s a big forward who can guard the likes of LeBron, Kawhi, Tatum, and others. He would be an athletic power forward who can stretch the floor on offense. His playmaking skills is pretty good. He would essentially be an athletic version of Draymond green on this team. The best part is that we can potentially get him without breaking up our core. I am very much on the trade CJ bandwagon but if Neil intends to keep the core then getting Gordon should be a priority. We would still have our MLE to get another wing and a back up guard
    Dame/Vet
    CJ/Trent
    Hood/Trent/Vet
    Gordon/Melo
    Nurkic/Collins

How the hell do we do all of that and get Melo? I asked this of someone yesterday. Carmelo Anthony said he would like to stay in Portland but at no point has he even implied that he would like to stay here for the vet min. The guy proved to everyone in the league this season with us that he is worth at least half of the MLE... don't get me wrong I don't know if he'd be worth that to us but I do think he would be worth that to other teams. So I just don't get why people keep putting him on the team like he's under contract and theoretically using the full MLE on a new piece or pieces. If we keep Melo the most we can expect is to pick up someone else at around 4.5 million of the MLE. Also, I think Melo would start over Hoodie at least at the beginning of the season but hopefully Hood surprises me and comes back like nothing even happened to him but unfortunately I'm imagining the reality will be that Hood will be even less mobile than Melo.

I do think it would be cool if we added Gordon to Dame and Nurk though and I would still hold out hope that Neil comes to his senses and gets us a better fit than CJ to play around those guys. What if we traded CJ and a couple future firsts (lets say 2023 and 2025) after the Gordon trade, for Middleton. Then our rotation could be Dame, Gary, Middleton, Gordon, Nurk, Michael Carter Williams (1/2 MLE), Zach, Melo (1/2 MLE), Hood and lets say Wenyen if he will re-sign for 120% of his last year's salary (non-bird exception) which would give him 1.7 mil. That team could contend. I think MCW could get all of the back up minutes at the guard spots since he can guard ones and twos. I think Zach would get all of the minutes behind Nurk and some of the minutes behind Gordon. Melo would get the rest of the minutes behind Gordon and most of the minutes behind Middleton. Hoodie and Wenyen would get spot minutes unless Hoodie comes back big time. We would fill the rest of the roster with min level players.

He doesn't need the money. He went to two "better" situations and was basically punted. We play to his strengths. He got to start here (probably not the case next season though.)

At this point of his career it's not about the money. He won't reject Portland because someone else gave him 3M more.

As for the trades i think those players can be had for much less. Middleton is not worth CJ+2 1st rounders. And Gordon not worth two 1st rounders+Little+Simons as well. I think 1 pick+Little is enough.

I wish I could be a fly on the wall to listen in on what other GMs really think about CJ's trade value. I have a feeling Blazer fans would be disappointed.

I would imagine that many of them view him in the same light as a Jamal Crawford, who still thinks he's a superstar caliber player.

Yeah at this point of his career I think he’s more interested in having a role on a contender than the money. If he’s starting next year then I am gonna be pissed. If he come off the bench, where he would thrive as a scorer, then I would be happy.
Yeah Gordon supposed trade value is all over the place. I guess the offer would have to make sense to the magic

So subtract a pick from each deal. Do you like that roster?

OK, I guess after making a $250 million in his career I guess I can see that. I just haven't heard that out of him. I'll just have to wait and see but you make an excellent point.
