Morey is highly overrated in my opinion. The fact that he got Harden for a song actually WAS dumb luck. I have no idea why OKC sold Harden so low.

He also benefits from the fact that NBA players (FAs) like to live in Houston.

I think this is overlooked. Players LOVE Houston.

But so many people say Morey is some kind of GENIUS?

Why is that? Is it a nice place? I've flown through but never really visited?

Well, one of the biggest benefits of being rich and famous when you are young......is landing lots of hot women....and Houston has lots.

Been a long time since I was in a strip joint, but as I recall the ones in Houston were off the charts good. I assume that is still the case.

Taxes and weather are also a factor

No state income tax, nice weather, just about everything within driving distance.

Do not see Westbrick working in Houston. Could possibly see him traded for John Wall or to the Knicks in a salary dump.

Horrible city! But it’s all about that weather and taxes!

Imo it’s terrible. Freeway centric like crazy. Traffic is LA level bad. Strips malls everywhere. Just a very car centric city with no walkability. And I’m guy that wouldn’t mind to expand the Rose Quarter bottleneck

Probably helps for traveling too since they are in the dead center of the country.

Russ is a good player, but he can't shoot, makes bad decisions, and is a horrible contract.

In the end Basketball is a Team Game. You have to be able to lead or play for the the team on the court. Russ doesn't seem capable of really leading and he seems to have huge problems following or playing for the team. Westbrook is not the first that has had this problem and he certainly will not be the last.

He used to praise himself to reporters like a narcissist, so they would write praise. In the last couple of years, he stopped so they did.

Dolan and Westbrook are a match...and the Knicks are dying to get a franchise player...plus they've hired and fired more players and coaches than any sports league over a decade..it fits the pattern

Well, a $41 million dollar contract for Westbrook would certainly help them die. Not sure how they'd make salaries work, but I'd say the Rockets would be giddy about dumping him.

Morey is the modern Bob Whitsitt, but a poor man's version

they both compulsively re-do rosters, but at least Whitsitt would end up with seemingly more talent nearly every year, even though he was no "chemist". Of course, Morey has to deal with cap-restraints Whitsitt didn't

Is it safe to say that THE HCP is the Russell Westbrook of S2?

    -Selfish
    -Unlimited Potential
    -Star Qualities
-The ability to take over at any minute
    -Hated
    -Vilified
    -Idolized
-Always in the spotlight being judged and critiqued
    -Unrealistic Expectations
-Will end up being one of the most hated, yet be in the HOF once he hangs it up

I'd say that THE_HCP is more the autograph model Russell Westbrook jock strap of S2.
