Doing a thread for good places in the US to move to. As the pandemic ravashes the nation, people in bigger cities are likely to flee to mid-sized cities that are safe, where you can get a big house, etc.

I was just in Austin all weekend. Seems like a really nice spot. Its a bit quirky. Very clean city for being as big as it is. It gets really country a bit out of town though, or very generic/midwestern, which can be expected. Its a much smaller city than I thought it would be. A slower pace of life. I thought it would be much busier than it was. Drivers were kind of shitty like they are in the NW, slow drivers in the left lane, etc, but there arent' tons of maniacs, but yeah...slow drivers.

Seemed to be a smaller, less ghetto version of Nashville.

People were very friendly, its the most liberal city in Texas. Up north, there was a nice, yuppie area too called the Domain, which was pretty nice. Very very clean as well, its like the Streets of Tanaborune/Bridgeport Village x 100.

Housing check showed it was pretty affordable. I saw Joe Rogen moved here and is setting up his studios. Big tech influence. Rumors are that Tesla is going to move here in the future. There are some big Google Buildings downtown.

Just in comparison to Austin. Maybe I couldn't find the bad areas this time around.

I mean, Nashville was cool, had a nice healthcare industry and other stuff, but I couldn't see myself living there personally.

Is it a Captain Kirk Line from that Star Trek movie that starts when he was a young man in Iowa?
