I think "president" in this article refers to POBO, aka president of basketball operations, not the business side.

Over the last few years, POBO has become the superior role in organizational hierarchy of NBA front offices. Neil is POBO here currently.

The article in the OP says as much:

Wonder who they are inquiring? Jody?

Billups is my #1 choice, but there is also this:

If there is even a whiff of Ujiri being available, bring him in ASAP.

I've always like Billups as a GM candidate. He's been available for a while now and passed over too, wonder why? Id take him.

Wasn't Indy rumored to be looking at Billups as their next coach?

    Nevermind.

I think a shot at Giannis is 2021 keeps him in Toronto.

I think Oshley should do it if only because Dame is at his prime and will never (?) be more popular. He can "take the credit" for that and use it to move on.

I’m a little scared because if this happens (a lot of dominoes fall), I don’t know if I have faith in McGowan and Jody Allen to hire the right people.

it’s exciting but terrifying too, we are literally hanging on a thread as a relevant nba team. The wrong hire could turn us into the Timberwolves in KGs post WCF years.

Didn't like the fit with Bam because he was too similar to Vonleh :breakdance:

Really enjoyed watching Bam at Kentucky though and Miami has gotten the most out of him. With Nurk around I don't think he's empowered as much as a playmaker which is where he brings a lot of his value.

But what's done is done. Still have a lot belief in Zach. Think he can end up a top 10 player out of his draft class with a few healthy seasons and more time at the 5.

He has the same vibe, intelligence and demeanor as James Jones down in PHX...... I would like it. Has the same experience as Billups.

    spreading mediocrity through the land.
Jon Spoelstra is an American author, sports marketer, and a former National Basketball Association executive for the Buffalo Braves, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets and New Jersey Nets.[1] He is the co-founder of SRO Partners, and he currently serves as president of Mandalay Sports Entertainment.[2] Spoelstra graduated from Notre Dame in 1966.[3] Spoelstra was a judge at the Miss America 2004 contest.[2] He and his wife Elisa Celino have two children: Monica and Erik, who is the current head coach of the Miami Heat. Spoelstra's own father was sports writer Watson Spoelstra.[4]

    top 10?

    Markelle Fultz
    Lonzo Ball
    Jayson Tatum
    Josh Jackson
    De'Aaron Fox
    Jonathan Isaac
    Lauri Markkanen
    Malik Monk
    Luke Kennard
    Donovan Mitchell
    Bam Adebayo
    John Collins
    Jarrett Allen
    OG Anunoby
    Kyle Kuzma
    Derrick White
    Josh Hart
    Thomas Bryant
    Dillon Brooks
    Monte Morris

he'll have to pass more than half that list, and right now, he's behind just about all of them. Meanwhile, while the timer for Zach's potential to arrive ticks away, so does the timer for Dame's prime

Call me crazy but in terms of helping a team win, there's only 5-6 guys on that list I'd rather have than Zach.

Do think the fit and opportunity might not be there for him with this team though.

This article doesn't even say that Philly is interested in Olshey; only says Olshey might be interested in the job if......
